Sundays are usually pretty slow at work in my role. Showed up today to a full dispatcher shift assigned to me due to sick calls. Not a bad thing, but man am I tired.

Niche stuff. Worked better on Twitter when I had 5k followers. But anywho. Anyone own a Lexus? I’m about to buy one.
Not my first time crossing Lake Erie by air. I have my reasons, but feels dumb every time.
Bonkers to me. But the airline I work for is tiny by comparison. I’ve clocked a couple of callsign conflicts myself and had an Alpha or Bravo added over the years.
Just after midnight, a pair of American Airlines flights with the same call sign were on the same frequency near Phoenix. Call sign confusion has resulted in previous incidents, but thankfully ATC and the pilots were able to resolve the situation. flightradar24.com/blog/aviatio...
I don’t understand the logic in scrapping the electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS), and neither do the navy personnel who operate these carriers. Just changing shit for no reason.
RED TAILS 😍 A handful of times as a kid I was on one of those Mesaba Saab 340s TOL-DTW. 15 minutes enroute at best. I have no proof I ever flew on an NWA DC-10, but I probably did.

I build a lot of routes for odd city pairs, but Diego Garcia to Xi’an has to be pretty high on the list.
As much as I can’t stand the guy, this is some badassery by USAF and the competent people protecting the incompetent one.

Trying to imagine the front page NYT & lead story CNN & Sunday show coverage if the US were running out of missile & oil reserves when a Democrat was President
RBADVISERS: “.. Yet another inflation impulse. The US basically has NO STRATEGIC PETROLEUM RESERVE (SPR) anymore.”
Two 5pm-3am shifts in a row down, four 1pm-11pm (which is my usual) to go. I’m not as good at this as I used to be.

Drove a U-Haul truck about 350 miles on the Ohio Turnpike and Cleveland area city streets in the last 36 hours. Moving furniture in and out of it along the way. Main takeaway is I’m f*ing out of shape.
Most avgeeks will question my sanity, but this is one of my happy places. Haven’t been in over a year and it’s bothering me.
On this day in 1987: The United Airlines terminal opened at O’Hare International Airport. The $540 million, Helmut Jahn-designed glass and aluminum complex included two buildings connected by an underground walkway featuring a 744-foot flashing neon sculpture.
One reason my vocation (somewhat overly strong word) still exists. NOTAMs in and of themselves are awful. Trusting one individual to check each one is probably never a good idea, in my opinion. But also, a GPS failure shouldn’t cause a crash, for so many reasons.
I have had it with this. There was a NOTAM that the GPS jamming activities were taking place in the area. Pilots must check NOTAMs prior to departure, especially commercial pilots. It is part of the damn job. If you need GPS to fly then reconsider your career choices.
I may or may not remember how this thing works, but my sister wants me taking pictures at her baby shower tomorrow. (Had no idea these things were huge family events nowadays)
I bought this thing as a birthday present for my dad. Now I want one.
Microsoft Flight Simulator being the thing keeping me sane wasn’t on my bingo card for 2026. Certainly a throwback to twenty years or so ago, though.
Boeing hasn’t built a 727 in 40+ years. Wtf do they have to do with this? Total nonsense move by Reuters.

Stragetic Air Command has some of the only footage of the epic B-36 landing and taking off. Paramount used the “new” Vista Vision to shoot the scenes with and it is a magnificent record of this mammoth machine operating. youtu.be/l1-urTRxeEM?... 🛩️ #Aviation #Avgeek #Warbird

I don’t care what the automation can do, entrusting a billion dollar aircraft to one person is insane.
The Air Force has made a formal decision about how the B-21 will be crewed as it pushes to start fielding the bombers next year. https://www.twz.com/air/usaf-decides-against-flying-b-21-raiders-with-just-one-pilot
Get to go back to the FAA’s Oceanic Working Group meeting in SFO in September. Been a couple years since I’ve been, always interesting.
Happy 250th birthday, America. You are beautiful, complicated and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together and the potential for generations of greatness to come.
I just laughed out loud when I saw that BBC America is currently showing The Patriot
