The Chiwenga sisters led the charge as Malawi stunned perennial champions Nigeria at the WAFCON in Morocco, taking down the defending champs 3-2. Temwa and Tabitha Chiwenga each scored in regulation time, but Nigeria responded early in additional time before Temwa sealed the deal. Huge upset.
As Mary Beard writes in Women and Power, The Odyssey provides us with Western literature's "first recorded example of a man telling a woman to 'shut up'." How apt, then, to see so many men rubbishing a woman who translated The Odyssey on the basis that her views on the film are somehow invalid.
Wilson's review is spot on for the bits of The Odyssey I saw, though I must admit I left the cinema early (I am too pregnant to sit in an uncomfortable chair for three hours watching something I am not enjoying). Nolan sucked all of the trickery and jest out of the cyclops scene and I was done.

Spain won the women's World Cup in 2023, after which the players ousted the corrupt president of the federation over his sexual assault on Jenni Hermoso. Now Spain simultaneously holds the women's and men's World Cup titles and the men's Euros. Gracias feminism and #SeAcabó.

Living in Paris and consuming the anglophone press is so odd. You can be reading an article and suddenly the author will describe the place where you happily live a normal, middle-class life as an "exurban ghetto".
It absolutely did and you can read all about it in my book, which is coming out next year.
