Introducing: We Dare To Pray A new series of events at St Nicholas Church, Leicester, held on the last Friday of each month, where we gather together to explore different ways of praying.

We've got something going on every day during Holy Week - if you're in Leicester why not come on by?

This Thursday is Transgender Day of Remembrance. To mark this we have a Taize service on the evening of TDOR itself. This mediative reading will include song, readings, and the reading of the list of names. On Sunday our Eucharist will also mark TDOR with a special sermon and prayers.

To coincide with Leicester Pride this year we're debuting a new project: 'Communion: A Queer Christian Zine', created with an ethos of grassroots organising and radical sharing, with the finished product being freely available for anyone to print and distribute among their own communities.

This Saturday is Leicester Pride! Come and find us on the march or at our stall in Abbey Park where we will have hundreds of cupcakes and badges to give away, as well as access packs full of things like water, earplugs, and suncream, to help you have a fun and safe Pride.

Many of you who've visited will have noticed that though our north aisle is the community gathering space, with the kitchen, toilet, and library, it's a bit grotty. We're hoping to do a small refresh of the space, making it somewhere more comfortable that people want to be. But we need your help...

We know many of our community come from different traditions and experiences, as well as being new to faith, so on Sunday the 19th and 26th of January our weekly 18:30 Eucharist will be a 'Teaching Eucharist'. What is a Teaching Eucharist? It's explained in the next post!

Being the (atheist) ornithologist-in-residence at the 9th oldest church in England (AD 879), and which caters to queer folks is pretty fun and a definite career highlight.

Has Christmas made you feel some unexpected feelings about Christianity? Is your New Years resolution to deepen and develop your faith? If you're in, or able to get to, Leicester, we'd love to help!

A reminder that St Nicholas Church is NOT open today - but that we do have a service on Sunday as usual.

SURPRISE BEER DROP: our friends at Closet Brewing have just sent us some extra treats for our Beer & Hymns event this Saturday Evening - so there's now SEVEN drinks to choose from! Welcome to the selection "Let's Get Squiffy" and "Rough & Crumble"

The beer for our Beer & Carols event arrived today! The fun begins at 18:30 on Saturday 14th, and our doors open at 17:45 to give you time to grab a pint, look around, and get settled. All money raised goes to support the church (which is a good excuse to get an extra round in!).

What a wonderful night at Carols By Candlelight with you all! Hopefully we'll see you all again soon!
