I found some game mags at the bookshop today, and as I always do, I checked the contributor names (I just like it when my friends are in there). i think there was one woman across 4 or 5 magazines of at least 20 contributors

I reviewed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Of 66 OpenCritic reviewers, just 3 appear to be women based on their names. We know a shrinking games industry has pushed women out. But seeing that imbalance laid out so starkly, especially around one of this years biggest releases just makes me sad.

Honestly BioWare's fate is due in large part to EA having no idea what to do with the studio when it delivered massive successes, let alone misses. In Dragon Age, you see a team punished for every win. DAO did well? Get the sequel out in a year. DAI did well? Congrats, upgraded to live service

The BioWare closure was avoidable. EA killed this studio by forcing the team to make a live service game, and then ensured they wouldn't get back up by giving them two years to retool it into a single player game.

Absolute shocking but not shocked about Bioware. They made my favourite games of all time, my goodness Knights of the Old Republic had such an impact on me. But also given what's happened with EA it is no shock. Everything is being gutted. RIP future blue alien lesbian sex cutscenes ✌️
