Been doing some prep work ahead of Demonseed, courtesy the time that the Short Love Story delay provided. I've long planned for the magic system in Demonseed to pull from sacred geometry. Had the idea to merge it with classical alchemy. From that, I came up with these Summoning Sigils.

Underspace becomes tense and exciting when you decide to go through an unstable wormhole and get spit out somewhere in deep space and have to just grope your way blindly through unknown jumpholes to find your way back to civilization. Oh, and space hell is real. I've been there. And back again.

I have spent the day putting together a much-needed update of my Patreon page layout. The biggest changes are I've now made a handful of collections, to better organize the posts. Progress Reports now get their own dedicated collections, as do the Series release posts - making them easier to track.

An upside to delaying the next episode of Short Love Story is that I now have time to do other things that have been neglected in my crunch to get Primordium ready. Such as continuing to restore the temporary website. I got the Autoreleases page working again! And I fixed the top bar on all pages!

A random idea that came to me, while building this outfit as part of the larger DOAFantasy Prototype 5 endeavor. Definitely thinking it'll eventually get integrated into Harlotype. Which I am slowly working on getting Episode 4 put together, now that I finally have some time again.

The public release of Short Love Story Episode 4, and the early-access release of Episode 5, are being delayed till next Monday October 12. I apologize for the inconvenience. Public release is being delayed because I don't want the releases to get desynced. That's just a headache waiting to happen.

Milly came in with the steel chair with her Triss audio during yesterday's stream. Sitting down to process it now. Her recording style is very stream-of-consciousness, she just hot-mics everything. And it leads to truly incredible things. This genuinely made my day. It's a dream reaction for me. 🥹

Source Filmmaker should never drop down to 500MB of memory usage. Especially in a project that takes 2230MB baseline. You do get some trippy effects out of it, though.

The Primordium crisis has also gotten me reevaluating next year's plans. Specifically, my original plan was to take 2 weeks between projects, and spend those 2 weeks prepping the pipe. EG, in the two weeks between Project A and Project B, I build Project C and send it off for voicing.

A clever change that Underspace makes to the Freelancer trading system (go play Underspace) is the concept of economy heat: Buying a commodity temporarily raises its price at that station, and selling temporarily lowers its price. This is clever for both the player, and the developer:

I watched Fantastic Four (2025) today, and it may be one of the most intellectually offensive films I've watched in years.

FINALLY managed to get all of the Primordium blocking done, for the four episodes that compose its first Chapter. And FUCK me. 😩

It just now occurred to me that I never actually showed what all we got done on past Sunday's stream. We managed to get DMon built, and cleaned up her rigging. There were a few unforeseen complications, but overall, very happy with how she's coming along! Next Sunday, we facepose and outfit her!

With Primordium Episodes 1, 2, and 4 fully blocked out, I am now working on the most narratively challenging of the batch, which is Episode 3. Unlike the previous episodes, Ciri doesn't have anyone she can banter with in Episode 3. She can't even banter with the Eldritch abomination she summons! 👻

As I finalize getting Primordium down the pipe for the next Micro project, I have been putting together some character profiles for next year's OC projects. The goal is to share them with prospective voice talent, see if any characters appeal to them, and help them find said characters' voices.

It's honestly impressive how Discord just IMMEDIATELY fucking fumbles rolling out this age verification bullshit. "90% of users won't have to confirm anything," meanwhile at least 5 people on my Discord server (which only has maybe 30 regulars) immediately got flagged as minors or "Unconfirmed". \1

While putting together character profiles for casting next year's projects, I decided to overhaul the physique for Nal'Azoth, the Demon Queen in Demonseed. I like her old "wiry physique with demonic strength" design, but now she LOOKS like she can pound a fat-assed half-elf right into the ground 🤤

Algorithms are funny things. I viewed one (1) French media Bluesky thread several weeks ago, reading about the financial troubles dontnod are dealing with (praying that Michel's team survives, I need more Lost Records). Now, weeks later, French news on my timeline. Coincidence? I think probably!

So I jumped over to sex.com to fish up some potential references for a project, and got flashbanged by one of my old Patron animations as the second result on the front page for gifs. This isn't the first time it's happened but it will probably never not feel weird to get jumpscared by my own work.

And now ALL of the Sombra audio has been OFFICIALLY processed. Including the earlier batch which I never actually got around to processing. That concludes the work that Cinder and I had together for Overbreed Episode 1, but don't be surprised if you see Cinder's name show up in future projects! 🤭

Don't stay up till 6am writing. You may just end up coming up with a full three-act treatment for yet another Overwatch film, this time exploring the relationships between sex, stigma, and liberation. I do not plan to shift the long-standing schedule of Overbreed Episode 1 then Blue Star Episode 4.
