Margaret Papandreou, a fighter and feminist leader, has died at 103. I met her only once, but some encounters stay with you. She was well over 90, yet full of energy, ideas and determination. Age is measured in years. What matters is the strength of one’s convictions. Rest in peace, Margaret. 🌹

Emma Bonino was a giant and one of my personal heroes—a trailblazer for abortion rights, divorce and human rights. She fought for refugees and forgotten women around the world, even reporting herself after having an illegal abortion to help change Italy’s law. Rest in peace, Emma.

Fifteen years ago, the Utøya massacre shattered us all. Just days later, I spoke at the IUSY Summer Camp, which opened with a moving tribute to the young lives lost to hatred. The horror of that day remains as our responsibility to stand against hatred. We remember Utøya.We remember the victims.🌹🕯️
