Important message from the victorious @bevcraig.bsky.social: it’s time to “move away from divisive politics that try to pit neighbour against neighbour.” Congratulations! Greater Manchester is in good hands. 🌹 @labouruk.bsky.social
Fifteen years ago, the Utøya massacre shattered us all. Just days later, I spoke at the IUSY Summer Camp, which opened with a moving tribute to the young lives lost to hatred. The horror of that day remains as our responsibility to stand against hatred. We remember Utøya.We remember the victims.🌹🕯️
🌹 Congratulations to Mariam Asghari on being elected Secretary General of @yesocialists.bsky.social At a time when democracy is under pressure and the far right is targeting young people, strong progressive youth leadership matters more than ever.
🇧🇪 Happy National Day, Belgium! Today we celebrate a country that has been a driving force behind the European project from the beginning.
Congratulations to Andy Burnham on becoming Leader of the Labour Party. Keir Starmer brought Labour back into government. Andy Burnham now has the opportunity to lead — with his bold vision rooted in working people, strong communities & social justice. The fight for a fairer Britain continues. 🌹🇬🇧
Great discussion with Michèle Auga, FES Budapest’s new Director, on the need to renew social democracy, reconnecting with women and young people, and opening up to civil society. The left will rebuild not through slogans, but by listening, organizing, and earning trust again. 🌹 @xauga.bsky.social
🌹 Congratulations to Simona Bucura-Oprescu on her re-election as President of PSD Women! She played a key role in Romania’s new law against femicide, and her members have shown they are ready to keep fighting for equality. Wishing you every success! @roxanaminzatu.bsky.social
I welcomed the FEPS–Renner Institute European Academy participants to the PES HQ! It is always inspiring to meet young progressives committed to making their countries and Europe a better place. We had a great discussion about Europe and the work of @pes-women.bsky.social. 🌹

This Europe Day feels especially meaningful for me. After 16 years of Viktor Orbán, Hungary’s new Prime Minister was inaugurated today — and the new Speaker has ordered the EU flag to be raised again on the Parliament building. Happy Europe Day to everyone! 🇪🇺

David Attenborough has spent a lifetime teaching the world to respect nature. An important lessons is this: exploitation — of the planet or of people —always comes from the same mindset of domination and greed. A better world must be both greener and more equal. Happy 100th birthday, Sir David.
36 years ago today, Latvia declared its freedom from the all-powerful Soviet Union. Courage pays off! 🇱🇻
Workers’ Day in the former mining town of Tatabánya, with the mayor, trade unions and my fellow Hungarian Socialists. Solidarity is what builds fair societies — and we need it now more than ever. ✊
Congratulations! A big step towards the culture of consent!
Only yes means yes! At our initiative, the Parliament just called for a common European definition of rape anchored in the lack of consent. The EU Commission cannot turn a blind eye: propose legislation now so we can deliver justice for women. Congratulations @joannasw.bsky.social and Evin Incir!
Let’s remember the brave people of the Liberation Front who fought the Axis occupation in Slovenia. Their courage reminds us: fascism must always be confronted in every form it takes.

40 years since Chernobyl disaster. Chernobyl was more than a nuclear catastrophe. It exposed what happens when a system protects itself before it protects people, and when truth is delayed until the damage is done. Facts can be buried for a time, never defeated. Without truth, there is no safety.
Great to see @coe.int SG raising the issue of online violence against women. @pace.coe.int overwhelmingly adopted my reports on #IstanbulConvention and #Consent — we all know that much more must be done, and that strong political focus is needed.
From migration to tackling online violence against women and girls, all these issues require a united European response. Through multilateralism and instruments such as the ECHR and the Istanbul Convention, we can deliver concrete outcomes for the democratic security of our continent.
I met Ania more than 20 years ago — the first woman SG of ECOSY (@YESocialist). Today, as Director of @feps-europe.eu, with 100+ publications and countless events behind her, she’s not only accomplished but a true ally. Proud of you @aniaskrzypek.bsky.social ❤️
I addressed the @PACE.coe.int plenary with a clear message: Violence against elected officials does not begin on the street—it is fuelled online. We must confront both together. The tools already exist, from GREVIO to the EU Digital Services Act. What we need now is the courage to use them.
Congratulations to Andrea Bujdosó and Ágnes Forsthoffer on being nominated as Tisza Group Leader and the next Speaker of Parliament. Women back in top positions matters. Regime change begins with a change of mindset. Wishing both of you every success.
The Global Progressive Mobilisation lead by Pedro Sánchez with progressive world leaders showed there is a real alternative to Trump and the radical right agenda. ✊🌍 Let’s defend democracy and advance social justice together. 🌹
