Just been having a look through Jodie Clarke's latest book 'Young, Autistic and Burnt Out' and it is fabulous. I'm SO glad autistic young people now have this resource at their disposal to not only guide them through autistic burnout, but to show them that there is a life on the other side of it.

Huge respect to Emma and the team for handing this letter to Wes Streeting. Our trans youth need us to stand in their corner. Please add your name to the letter (follow the link in the post below) to challenge the ban on puberty blockers.

In today's research on autism, reading all the papers that claim that IVF may 'cause' autistic people. Can't find even one team that ask whether one or both parents is autistic. Factors for infertility typically include age (e.g. autistic people may marry later) or/

Dear researchers doing this stuff. Please check whether your cohort is autistic. The main cause of autism is autistic parents having autistic children. I know this goes against everything your ancient Professors are telling you to write in your papers, but try. Just try. Thank you.

It’s disheartening to see lots of white starter packs, including in #autism. As many people know, this contributes to underdiagnosis, stigma and isolation It would be really nice to elevate voices from the #BIPOC community and feel less alone ❤️ Would love to start my own pack - any suggestions?

This is really important work highlighting the parental blame faced by parents of autistic children. Our autistic young people and their families deserve so much better. We have such a long way to go to create a world that understands and includes rather than judging and blaming.

Blaming parents who seek support for their #autistic children is widespread. Watch our video and download a copy of our new research report 'Blamed instead of helped' from www.wm-adass.org.uk

Still from video about autism and parental blame

#tl;dr - • Wikipedia's main entry on autism is overlong, poorly structured and mostly ignores decades of autistic insights • Epistemic injustice is a widespread problem: too many are not believed about their own experiences, or given the tools to understand them

This moment in Bluesky is a great example of how joy itself can be defiance and resistance. We are just hanging out, shitposting, being silly, happy, and normal. It is being treated as if it is transgressive, opting out of the endless negativity. Because in a way, it is. Joy is my favorite weapon.
