If you ever wondered about the history and current state of plant Clathrin-mediated endocytosis....here is a review just for you! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... Was really fun to write this with awesome co-authors! ⚽️🌱🔬
Clathrin‐Mediated Endocytosis in Plants: Historical to Modern Advances
Ultrastructural studies by Bonnett and Newcomb in 1966 revealed the existence of coated vesicles budding from the plant cell plasma membrane. This review introduces this discovery and early questions...

I am looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join my team to work on the interplay between endocytosis and autophagy. The 3-year project runs in collaboration with the Dagdas lab @plantophagy.bsky.social and can start asap. Interested candidates can apply via the link below. jobs.vib.be/apply/134365
In our new pre-print, we established massive single-cell RNA-sequencing for diatoms to investigate key cell fate transitions. Notably, we discovered that the diploid-to-haploid transition is regulated by Myb TFs, a process that is actively ongoing across the Global Ocean! 🌊
🌱Save the date! It’s time to plant the seeds of discovery at our 4th edition of #PlantResearch26. From roots to results, explore breakthroughs in genetics, sustainability, crop innovation, and future food systems. Let’s grow ideas together, in Ghent, 17-18 September: vibbio.tech/4s31Pg5 #VIBConf
Dear ENPER community, We are pleased to invite you to the next ENPER meeting, which will be held in my country Bulgaria, from 26 to 28 August 2026 in Sofia. Save the Date!🌱🌱🌱

🚨 New preprint by @cate-giannini.bsky.social🚨 We uncover an unexpected link between auxin signalling, transcription, and autophagy — revealing how plants coordinate gene expression and cytoplasmic renewal to drive developmental reprogramming. 🌱✨ www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Another PhD from the lab! Many congratulations, Dr. Andreas De Meyer!
Great work by julien Spielmann now published in @theplantjournal.bsky.social. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
Canonical tyrosine‐based motifs are required for constitutive endocytosis and polarity of IRT1 and contribute to metal uptake
Control of IRT1 cell surface levels is critical for plant iron uptake from the soil and was previously shown to be regulated by ubiquitin-mediated endocytosis upon non-iron metal excess. Here, we she...

New Online! Mechanisms of auxin action in plant growth and development
Mechanisms of auxin action in plant growth and development
Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, Published online: 19 May 2025; doi:10.1038/s41580-025-00851-2The phytohormone auxin coordinates plant growth by forming local maxima and gradients through cell-to-cell transport and metabolic control. Recent research has identified novel signalling mechanisms involving extracellular auxin perception and auxin-mediated cyclic AMP production.

Broad application of plant protein tagging with ALFA tag for nanobody-based imaging and biochemical approaches
Epitope tags are broadly used for detecting, modifying or purifying proteins of interest, but their breadth of application is often rather poor. Recently, the rationally designed ALFA tag and its ALFA...
