The last week of July last year I'd just finished revising Everybody's Perfect and was starting to write Sunlit Uplands. Now I'm revising Sunlit Uplands and starting to work on Mad or a Poet. Feels like my life's back on track!

#PlotTober Day 2 This is a character-driven book based on a real event. I used archetypes to build my characters: the Fool, the Matriarch, and the Messiah. I love taking these templates and making them into living, breathing humans with the facts from primary sources. #writingcommunity

👋I’m excited to participate! I write for early readers to YA. I love to write about family & the truths of the 🌎. My WIP is a HF YA about good trouble on the Underground Railroad. I used the Heroine’s Journey to plot it out, but it’s based on true events! #PlotTober #WritingCommunity
