Today I am back in London for the Covid Inquiry as the report on Procurement will be published. Unfortunately some of the report will remain secret while we all wait for the NCA to complete its (6 year?) investigation into Medpro. A reminder of some of the key points:

1/3 Today I am back in London for the opening of Phase 2 of the Southport Inquiry. The focus will now move from what happened in Southport to the much wider issue of what to do about Violence Fixated Individuals - get used to hearing about VFIs over the next few months.

1/4 Nine years ago today, evil was visited upon us. In some twisted act of revenge, cowards chose to attack not the people in power, but innocents attending a pop concert. Whatever they hoped to achieve that day, they didn't count on the British spirit.

I am back at the Covid Inquiry for the publication of the Module 4 Report on Vaccines and Therapeutics. We hope the relative successes in vaccines will not mask the catastrophic failures in therapeutics.

37 years since the avoidable Hillsborough disaster that claimed 97 innocent lives and impacted many thousands more. Another anniversary when the bereaved should be able to remember their lost loved ones peacefully yet they are having to spend it fighting yet another Government.

33 years since my town was attacked and my world view changed forever. 33 years and no one has ever been convicted or held accountable. But the contribution made to the peace process was without doubt, the greatest achievement and must have saved countless lives.
