I really appreciate everyone’s passion over city politics, but Frey being removed or resigning over disagreement regarding the management of MPD is a theory that simply is not grounded in reality. (This is, for some reason, a theory that I have seen floating around.)

Minneapolis added a layer of very highly paid leadership between mayor and police chief, yet the newest chief is able to say they inherited a financial mess. This is a $250 million per year organization. Shouldn't matter if prior chief was a reckless maniac.

Yesterday MPD leaders couldn't answer what the return on investment is for the very expensive CSO program when asked how many are eventually hired as real police. Years of big talk on recruiting, but can't say how effective their methods are. Just "we have been starting to track"
