It's wild how little some ppl seem to value having a capable working brain but as someone who had a TBI & is still trying to cope with capabilities I lost & changes that occurred, I refuse to cede any of my brainpower willingly & tbh 1 day these people might have to face that same emotional trauma

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

All the people who are anti-Al or want to
slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you
still get through an entire workday
without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
 Al tool?

Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it
 up?

God I hate having a car. Dead battery this morning, jump it, gas light is on but my commute is literally 1.5 mi to the freeway, freeway the whole time & work is right at the exit so I don't want to stop before the freeway bc not enough juice to jump it again so I just hypermile the whole way lmao

Mr. Holani was: 1. Unlawfully detained without due process, 2. Shackled & coerced to sign a document, and 3. Lied to about the document, which authorized the gov’t to deport him. This is a government without decency, without respect for the constitution, & not worthy of your respect.

Judge Wise finds that ICE coerced a 20-year-old Tongan man — admitted legally to the country three years ago — to sign a document accepting deportation, despite no criminal record or immigration proceedings against him. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

OF COURSE THEY WERE this is how a public health investigation works public health agencies who take their jobs seriously won't go around issuing recalls or press releases based on unverified reports so they can get sued by all the corporations they were wrong about! god I fucking hate it here

Taco Bell Met With Michigan About Parasite Weeks Before Recall

Michigan health authorities were in touch with Taco Bell’s parent company, Yum! Brands Inc., about a parasitic outbreak in early July, weeks before the company officially alerted consumers.

This is just graft, plain & simple. DHS (ICE & CBP) have so much money, they are itching to give it away to every friend, cousin, and ne’er-do-well. Nobody expects to collect on this foolishness. BUT it is an opportunity for us to take down some names. Folks who take money from Trump must pay.

Project Salt Box@projectsaltbox.com · yesterday

NEW: CBP is shopping for a contractor to track down people the US has deported to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala and collect unpaid immigration fines — debts that can top $1.8 million a person.

LMAO I made wings for dinner, ate them & went about my business. I just took my dog out & when I came back I looked in the mirror & there's fucking sauce all over my face. It was legit like that scene with Lindsay in You're the Worst when she's making Edgar hit on the dude for her at the sports bar

This is the story that started my lifelong love of "cold" dystopian scifi and that was always my read of it, but I was also ~8 when I first read it, so I'm def not saying I was right because I knew fuck all about nuclear war. I was just like "man the future is gonna be so sad & then we all die"

Cris (without an H)@ambignostic.bsky.social · 22h ago

Today is There Will Come Soft Rains day, and it’s interesting how much the story reads to me now less as a “horror of nuclear war” snapshot and more as an examination of how impersonal our automated homes have become, that they could just go on without us

I mean you also need to be able to afford to feed them & provide medical care for them, which is substantially more expensive than even the bourgiest cat toy (Also the unsaid implication is that untold numbers of wild animals deserve to die as entertainment for your cat which is kind of psychotic)

Cats of Yore@catsofyore.bsky.social · yesterday

Someone once told me that it's "classist" to advocate for people to have indoor cats because you need to buy them lots of expensive toys. Marcel has been playing with the discarded stem of a fresh green bean for 20 minutes. 🤷‍♀️

A new investigation reveals that Nicaragua’s gold boom is encroaching on protected areas and Indigenous territories. Driven by government backing and rapid concession growth, expanding mining operations now threaten local forests, clean water, and ancestral lands. By Maxwell Radwin for #Mongabay.

Nicaragua’s gold boom is now encroaching on protected areas and Indigenous land

In Nicaragua, the mining sector has steadily grown over the last two decades, with gold becoming a top export and a pillar of the national economy. For most of that time, the growth was gradual. But…

God of course the new piece of shit health insurance my company has doesn't cover prescriptions filled at CVS which is the one pharmacy that will fill my ADHD meds. WHY CAN'T THINGS NOT FUCKING SUCK

As a latina trans woman who has witnessed my dad being taken away by ICE in the dark of early fall morning during the Obama era in 2013- I would really fucking appreciate it if cis people didn't weaponize my people's pain to attack trans people as well, WHO ARE ALSO MY PEOPLE. Fucking hell.

Jessie Gender@jessiegender.bsky.social · yesterday

Deeply disappointed at the comments on my Ken Jennings video. People would rather have empathy for a cis person than the trans person mocked. Yeah it’s the trans persons fault for lightly pointing out to a cis person the New York Times is bad actually to trans person. She’s making it about herself.

Why is NYPD still issuing criminal summonses to vendors for violations like being too close to the curb? A law that took effect in March decriminalized such violations. & NYPD hasn't been the primary agency in charge of vending enforcement since 2023. documentedny.com/2026/07/24/n...

NYPD Criminal Summonses Continue Despite New Vendor Laws

A Documented review found vendors received more criminal summonses in the first three months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, despite a new city law decriminalizing many violations.

good old historic palo alto - where they did things like make a park for "palo alto residents only" so that the poors & POC who they'd redlined out of buying homes there wouldn't be able to visit it. & it wasn't until a lawsuit in 2020 that it opened to everyone. such a rich history!

tweety fish@sifu.tweety.fish · 2d ago

I'm not going to QT but there's a silicon valley NIMBY complaining about maintaining the historical character of Palo Alto and man that place should look like fucking singapore. Market cap of tech companies based in and around there is like $14 trillion and it's full of fucking bungalows? So broken

Boy so glad to have several men jump into a thread to explain to the hysterical women/femmes/feminists that a man creating a chatbot of his female political opponent that says what he wants her to say without her consent is def NOT MISOGYNY. One even cited a thing called Merriam-Webster??? WOW THX
