Oren Ambarchi coming in hot with one of the best - and most aptly titled - albums or the year 🪩
orenambarchi.bandcamp.com/album/cooked On his last record “Shebang” that was his ECM inspired incredible record. On his latest record “Cooked” his sound is coming from a chaotic fusion place that some may recall his back catalogue “Hubris”. Whatever place his music comes from it is always fresh.

“Even my solo records in the past, where it’s layers of guitar stuff, a lot of it is literally just throwing everything up in the air and seeing how it lands. Or randomly turning on two different things, hearing what they sound like together and going, ‘oh, wow, that’s really bizarre.’”

'There’s an enjoyable Whack-A-Mole-ish quality to the arrangements on Cooked, where instruments surface then vanish: fitful double bass takes the place of twelve-string guitar, hushed ambient textures replace jazz skronk.' Oren Ambarchi - Cooked buff.ly/BE4MJUv

Oren Ambarchi: Cooked - Spectrum Culture
Experimental artist Oren Ambarchi’s Cooked may be an acquired taste, but inexperienced listeners will still enjoy it if they are willing to give the album the multiple listens it requires.
