Shengwu Li@shengwuli.bsky.social · 2y agoUnfortunately, it’s clear to me that the data and methods in Oprea (2024) do not justify its headline conclusion. Unless I’m missing something, I think that the right thing for the AER to do is to retract the paper.

I think this point by Deborah is key. The data colada team is b-school based and have raised standards for everyone. IMHO this article is well below the standard I expect from the Atlantic.
