Congratulations to our researchers recognised at the UCC Research & Innovation Awards last night. Yensi Flores Bueso received the Global Engagement Research Award. Laia Raigal, Antonia Virovska, Katarina Medved & Sasna Thomas were awarded joint winners of the Engaged Research of the Year Award.
The Global Engagement Research Award recognises an outstanding contribution to advancing @ucc.ie's research impact in 2025, and is awarded to Dr. Yensi Flores Bueso @cancerresearch-ucc.bsky.social for international collaboration in AI-driven protein design, leadership and science diplomacy work.
Congratulations to PI Vitaliy Mykytiv and the Cancer Trials Group team at Cork University Hospital for successfully enrolling their first patient on the Alidhe trial.

Prof Aisling Barry, Chair of Radiation Oncology at UCC joined Niall Rochford today as he began his 250km #Cork2Cong walk in memory of his wife Stella 💜. Niall started his 12-day journey from @ucc.ie where Stella once studied, to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer.

After completing MSc research alongside her role in the BCNI Biobank, Cliodhna Nolan begins a full-time PhD this week. She will continue to focus on cell-free DNA in high-grade non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma to help improve patient monitoring & treatment. Good luck Cliodhna!
