I was recently asked what I enjoy about being an audiobook producer. My answer was simply to build happy and strong relationships with narrators, helping them feel relaxed and comfortable in the studio. So it was very lovely to receive this from Mo this morning. We are both Mo's, don't you know 😀

I've edited lots of autobiography audiobooks over the years read by the authors. It's amazing how many don't read their books thoroughly before coming to the studio. Many times sessions are stopped so they can call their publisher to find out if it's too late to have something changed or corrected!

A transcript is the only way to make video or audio content accessible to someone who is both deaf and blind. Transcripts can be converted into braille, to be read on a refreshable braille output device.

I notice they don't share actual sales figures for audiobooks created by A.I. Yes, you could save a little bit by not using a professional narrator, editor and proofreader... but what is the point if your audiobook has stigma of being A.I. generated AND you don't actually sell many copies...

Of course, I didn't fall for it. (Hopefully the bin men haven't been yet so I can fish out my headphones...)

I'm just finishing editing a religious audiobook, then on to two regency romances, then the next in a crime thriller series... from my perspective, authors are shunning A.I and still using humans! Long may it continue! #narrators #audiobooks #audiobookproducer
