Don't know how I missed this when it first came out but it's really good. Explains a lot about the kind of defensive setups Arsenal often struggle against most (and what we use too - hence it's so important our wide players work hard without the ball)

I don’t mind it on loan. Most fans have to be realistic on what is possible this window, I don’t think some actually understand how poor our financials are. If Rashford/Garnacho leave we need a stopgap forward—Nkunku does this whilst suiting one of the #10 but still not amazing. It’s just okay.
Thoughts on Nkunku as one of the 10s?
I don’t think that other application has ever been as bad as it is right now. Hope to up my output on here even if it’s just the same stuff!
Sulemana was moving like a player I would want in one of them 10 slots, by the way. His physicality and sharpness on the turn was so so impressive, bounced off everyone, quick bursts of speed, ball striking, direct and attacks the box well. Lovely player him. Hope he stays consistent under Juric.
Released a piece on The Overlap Breakdown picking one player for every club in the PL, here’s some of my favourites; —Eiran Cashin -> Leicester City —Jeremie Frimpong -> Aston Villa —Callum Doyle -> Wolves —Samuele Ricci -> Man City —Maxim De Cuyper -> Palace —Lamine Camara -> Bournemouth
There’s a conversation to be had about risk variance at the TOP level and why it’s becoming more and more of a wider margin season on season—Arteta has somewhat struggled to win narrow game states but I also see the same ‘lack of numbers’ and risk adverse nature in Amorim. The gap? Player quality.

Having a short [+short limbed] CB is pretty horrid for defending even when it’s 1v1 on the deck and not the air. Martinez cannot physically get across his man, players take two steps and they’re across him. Very rarely gets himself between man—ball and if he does, it’s usually a foul.

Love this podcast, I’ve been a fan for so long. To do this was brilliant, great group of lads behind it and some great chatter in here. I hope I did both sides justice but overall it was great to sit down and chat freely about football. Thanks for having me on.

Isak Hien absolutely screams of someone like Spurs, Villa or Brighton [niche recruitment] paying about £25/30m for him and then him turning out to be one of the best value for money signings in that season. Man mountain, comfortable stepping in to press, good 1v1 and a great box defender.
Watching Manu Kone right now wondering how he never got a BIG break in Europe, feel like he’s quite a perfect two-man midfield player especially next to more of a controller in front of a three back (how he’s being used now) always loved how he ran with the ball and how robust his ball-winning is.
