The Freedom From Religion Foundation is a national 501 (c)(3) nonprophet nonprofit, with 40,000 nonreligious members working to keep state and church separate.

Nothing says “Christian love” quite like a pastor cheering on public executions. These are the same people who insist we need religion to have morality.

If we had the choice between torturing someone for eternity over their beliefs or simply not doing that, we’d choose not to. But what do we know? We’re just evil heathens, not the infinitely loving and merciful Jesus.

FTFY: Men and women are equal in value. Full stop. “Distinct roles” is just a religiously motivated excuse to dress up sexism as divine design.

America is not a Christian nation or a Muslim nation. It’s a secular republic where freedom of religion means freedom for everyone, including the freedom to reject religion entirely. No religion gets to claim ownership of our government.

Young people aren’t just rejecting organized religion. That’s an encouraging sign for a generation growing up with unprecedented access to information, science, and diverse perspectives.

If Christianity were actually proven true, most atheists would change their minds. But acknowledging that a god exists is very different from deciding that god deserves worship. Belief and submission are two very different things.

This is exactly why government meetings shouldn't begin with prayer. Religious freedom means accepting that others have beliefs you don't share, not demanding special treatment whenever Christianity isn't the center of attention.

A Satanist recently gave an invocation in Ottumwa, Iowa that ended with "Hail Satan." A pastor then asked the council to "reverse the curse." The mayor capitulated. What a mess. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/satanic-in...

We need to force kids to read “Thou shalt not kill” on their classroom walls, then livestream the government killing someone on their screens. Apparently, that’s what Christian values look like under Pete Hegseth.

Pete Hegseth says Americans will be able to watch a Trump-approved firing-squad execution. If he follows through, the U.S. could join a disturbing club of countries known for public executions—including Iran, Afghanistan, and North Korea.

Christians have somehow convinced themselves that publicly proclaiming their faith, while being praised by millions of other Christians for doing so, is an act of extraordinary courage. Being a Christian in America is not exactly a bold act of rebellion.

You can investigate the truth claims of every religion. Christianity isn’t special. Apply the same standards of evidence to Christianity that Christians apply to every other religion, and it fares no better. Also, we investigated. Turns out it’s not true. Sorry!

Bild

This is exactly why we oppose prayer at city council meetings. Everyone supports government prayer until it’s a religion they don’t like. Government should represent everyone, not privilege one religion over another.

Bild

We probably should have ensured that crazy theocrats like Hegseth never got control over a country’s nuclear arsenal, either.

There are countless explanations for separate instances of people doing terrible things. “Demonic spirits” aren't a thing. And why single out women? Misogyny seems to be doing more work here than any demon.

Christian nationalism is many things, but perhaps its most consistent feature is being unbearably cringe.

The President should not be using taxpayer funds for self-serving ads during midterms season, much less ads that depict him as a divinely-chosen leader. Read more ➡️ ffrf.us/4zhhJqE

There have to be hundreds of people willing to claim they visited Heaven for 15 minutes of fame and a book deal. How does Fox decide which completely unverifiable story deserves airtime? Best description of Jesus? Most marketable hallucination? Random drawing?

Hemant Mehta@friendlyatheist.com · 5d ago

Gabe Poirot says he spent 18 days in Heaven and met a Jesus who was six feet tall, made of fire, and overflowing with testosterone. Fox treated this as news. There's no evidence of this. Just a deeply manipulative story and a book to promote. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/a-christia...

This anti-abortion lawsuit is a religious crusade seeking to impose the dogma of the few on the rights of the many. Read more ➡️ ffrf.us/4hF4kmB

Atheists don’t hate God. We don’t think he exists. We advocate for thinking freely and following your own beliefs. It’s the religious authoritarians who claim to know exactly what God demands, then try to impose those demands on everyone else. Who’s playing God again?

Evangelicals are basically Star Wars original-trilogy purists: stick to the source material. Catholics built an entire extended universe with extra lore, characters, traditions, and canon. Same franchise. Very different fandoms.

The First Commandment literally orders students: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” The state has no right to tell children how many gods to worship, which gods to worship, or whether to worship any at all.

A Texas judge has ordered Galveston ISD to post the Ten Commandments in classrooms. The district said the posters were unconstitutional and harmful. They resisted until now. Ken Paxton didn’t care. Forced Christianity is the point. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/texas-judg...
