I think we can all agree now that Shane Gillis definitely has the equivalent of Lorne Michaels' pee tape, right?

Why do we want a phone that folds? I don't want a phone that folds. I already had my flip-phone era.
Fair. At this point I can't remember if I was half-dressed, coffee going cold in front of me, while I stared at a TV screen in front of me in horror, or if I was in downtown Manhattan trying to help people but instead being pulled from rubble by two brave, burly NY firefighters. One of the two.
"September 11th was 25 years ago" -- Ted Cruz defends Trump lying about his response to 9/11 but suggesting he might not remember because it was so long ago
State of the republic: Our leader lies brazenly and ridiculously to exalt himself and steal valor as we remember one of our greatest tragedies. On the same day, the head of national museum resigns because this leader demands American history be rewritten so rank dishonesty can prevail over fact.
Oh, fun. Tomorrow's episode of Ted Lasso is already up on Apple TV. Had a rough workday, so thank you very much!
Netflix just announced that Zoe Kazan will be adapting Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove into a new series. The book is one of my all-time favorites, and I love the 1989 miniseries with Robert Duvall. But I rewatched it a few years ago, and only some of it (the performances mostly) holds up now. 1/2
I forgot to mention on here because trauma, but I finally went to get my birthday lobster (boiled/steamed) at Red Lobster this weekend... and they were ALL OUT OF LOBSTER. You had one job, Red Lobster. Did I cry? No. But Paul kept thinking I was going to.
My dude lost his job and will never be able to fly again, but at least this picture will follow him to his grave
American Airlines passenger duct-taped to seat after mid-air meltdown loses his job
Just tried to wake Paul up from a nap, and he said, "DON'T MAKE me take the GPS off the trucks. I won't do it!" Really hoping he remembers what that dream was about when he wakes up.
If you don't say "Superstore," you're telling me you never watch "Superstore."

What’s your favorite workplace sitcom?
It's too late in the year to be putting this out into the Lou-niverse, but I think about this often and have never figured out how to make it happen. I have a big backyard (for the neighborhood). It's bigger than the neighboring house. I've always wanted to "rent" it out to a community gardener.
Just called the resort we'll be staying later this month to request an accessible room, and the woman was so nice, I started to cry. She asked if we'd been there before, and I said it would be our 4th time. She said, "Ah! Royalty!... oh, I meant to say Loyalty!" and giggled. A bit? Maybe. It worked.

Bah. Nothing like not being on the app for a bit, then logging on and seeing like 12 people post "OMG, IT'S HAPPENING." And you think for a sec that IT IS HAPPENING, but it's a sports thing, not the IT we're all hoping for. Every year, I have to reacclimate to sports season posts.
If there was vomit on my sweater already from mom’s spaghetti I think I would just stay home. No rap battles for me tonight please, I am unwell.
Feeling like a dumb former travel agent, realizing the vacation we booked 3 weeks ago may be significantly cheaper this weekend because of Labor Day sales. PSA: If you want to do an all-inclusive/cruise in the next year or so, now is the time to book.

I'll vote for any mayoral candidate* who promises to bring back the big fountain in the Ohio River. I am so sad that was before my time in Lou. *kidding, I wouldn't vote for Craig even if he promised he'd build me one in my backyard.

Remember when Kristen Welker would always ask every Republican guest to repudiate the statements of Nick Fuentes, Jack Posobiec, Benny Johnson, or other MAGA racists? Neither do I.
Raskin after Kristen Welker plays him clips of controversial Hasan Piker comments and asks him to react to them: "I think all of that is an irrelevant distraction"
Oof. Every year around this time, I am reminded that while so many of you are my people and feel like my kindred souls in so many ways, when it comes to sports, I am an alien in your worlds. It's fine. It's cool. You're aliens in mine, too. Still 🧡 y'all. Happy you're happy. Never yucking your yum.
Go get vaccinated. I say this with my whole chest as the spouse of a man who was rendered permanently disabled by a vaccine. Can vaccines harm you? Obviously yes. But how often? HARDLY EVER. I always said Paul was "one in a million," and in actuality he's likely one in several million.
RFK Jr. has hired an Army doctor with a history of questioning the safety of Covid vaccines to investigate unsubstantiated claims that more than 2,500 U.S. service members died after receiving the shots. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/04/u...
