I am sitting on my couch, watching my favorite Hallmark movie. In it, a firefighter finds a cat and falls in love with a vet student who also loves cats. I watched it every year with my cat, Bess. This year, I'm watching it for the first time since she passed with Binx on my lap and Iris at my feet.

I respect people who have them, but visiting family for the holidays reminds me why Amber and I chose to be child free cat people and not child-having dog people.
