It’s a great start to the morning when past you worked out the High Asairic name of AN IMPORTANT PLACE in the current WIP, so present you can just keep editing 🤓

Hit 375,000 words on the first draft of Pillars of the Sky this morning. Still writing, but only 8–10 chapters to go. Once the draft is done, it’s off to alpha readers, then revisions. While it’s out, I’ll start work on Dragonhold, a stand-alone Eye of Eternity novel.

Another milestone! I’m about 2 chapters away from finishing Darien’s arc for Pillars of the Sky. Then it’s Sevaani’s turn. I’d say I’m 85% done. This book has been kicking my butt. Next up: edits, alpha, beta, editor. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I can see it!

Hit 325K words on The Pillars of the Sky! ✍️ Cut 4K from Kaiel’s arc before starting Darien’s, so it took a bit longer, but that’s 4K fewer to edit later. First draft = telling myself the story. Edits come next. Book 2 is coming. Slowly. Surely. 👀 #amwriting #fantasywriter

I don't understand why we constantly need to reboot Superman.

This wasn’t supposed to happen… The first draft of The Pillars of the Sky just hit 300,000 words. I thought I’d finish at 225K. I was wrong. Very wrong. Still writing. Still overwhelmed. But the story’s not done—yet. Book 2 is coming. I promise. #amwriting #fantasy

I may or may not have just received the cover art for The Pillars of the Sky by the awesome Felix Ortiz. But I can’t share it until the book’s finished and @stk-kreations.bsky.social works his magic on the design #sorrynotsorry

I just binged the 3 seasons of Happy Valley. Wow. What a show. I HIGHLY recommend. And Sarah Lancashire is a brilliant actress.

It astounds me how wrong Rafe Judkins has gotten every part of the WoT TV show.

I’ve just had two weeks off work and have spent most of that time getting back into the habit of doing three writing sprints a day. I've worded everyday and have really built up my own momentum in getting the words out and onto the page. ‌ Book two is coming...

The Pillars of the Sky just hit 250K words. Not finished but getting much closer to the end of Kaiel’s arc for this book ⚔️ ‌ I’ve got at least another 50K to go 👀 ‌ Some might think that’s too much, but for those of you waiting, book 2 is closer to complete than not 😎

Dune Prophecy. The Sisterhood is more Aes Sedai than the Aes Sedai depicted in the WoT tv show.

Thank you @afictionalescapist.bsky.social for inviting me to a writing sprint this morning. Just when I thought I wasn't going to get any words done this weekend too 🙃

Well, first time on here in a hot minute. Hello to all the new follows! Fair warning - I don't post a lot on social media (awkwardness ensues), but I am working hard on book 2 of The Eye of Eternity 👀

Coming in 2025, book one of a brand new gritty fantasy series. THE SINS OF STEEL AND SHADOW. Bail Neren is a Turned. Hated and reviled by both humans and vampyrs alike. But now he has the chance to change everything…for a price. Currently seeking ARC readers, link in thread 👇🏻

Okay, so we now have 168 named characters in The Pillars of the Sky. Don't panic (he says to himself). Some of them only appear for a page or two(ish)...

Okay. Citadel is ridiculous. And not in a good way.

Looking for at least one more showcase clip to complete the line-up for October. Do you have a self-pub fantasy or sci-fi new release, or a backlist title you want some more eyes on? Details are linked below.

I have a showcase scheduled for October 21. If you're a self-published SFF author this is your invitation to join over 100 other authors who have introduced their books in this video series. Details on how to submit a clip can be found here: www.dominishbooks.com/authorshowcase

I started watching 'Citadel' on Prime when it released and stopped after 2 episodes. So bad. But 'Citadel: Diana' has come out and I want to watch that so figured I'd try 'Citadel' again. Still bad, but in episode 4 it's actually become interesting!

This year has been tough, but I am excited to say another milestone has been reached in the first draft of The Pillars of the Sky.

Coming soon...

Some months I think about turning off Kindle Unlimited and going wide, and then some months (like this one) I am very thankful it's on.
