Had some *very* exciting post arrive today but I strictly can’t talk about it so instead you’ll have to read this post of my talking around it in that annoying, vague way that everyone hates. But yeah, some cool shit comin’ in 2027, folks!

Just one month until The Ruin of Rage and Reckonings is released! I’m incredibly proud of how this series is shaping up. If you like your fantasy with a gritty edge and with a dollop of dark humour, The Turned books are for you! stevepannett.com/books/the-si... stevepannett.com/books/the-ru...
Before becoming a parent I didn’t appreciate what normal, mid-range volume is like. Life after kids is either way too loud or suspiciously quiet. There is no middle ground.

This really is the perfect joke because if I’m right then we’ll all just suffer horrible economic consequences…but at least I’d be right And if I’m wrong then the species will be extinct and there’ll be no one around to say “I told you so” except for some mildly apologetic chatbots Lose lose bebe!
Steve Pannett@stevepannett.com · 4w agoI told everyone I invented magic that would fix everything wrong with the world so they gave me all their money and I spent it all on a fancy light show that runs on diesel and now they’re getting nervous so I’m telling them all the magic is so powerful it could kill us all. This is AI right now.

Kids keep you grounded. I’m going to some fancypants awards do next week, so I tried on my tux to check that it still fits etc etc. One of my 7yos told me I look like a butler.
I have a theory (more of a hunch, in truth) that, while Covid traumatised the entire planet, the rich and powerful were—somewhat ironically—adversely affected because, perhaps for the first time, they were proven to be just as human/mortal as everyone else. Their response was to lose their minds.
This was my 500th post on BlueSky and I used it to be pithy and snarky and generally pissy at some people being complete, unabashed wankers. Pretty fitting, actually…now that I think about it 🤔
