Happy retirement to Mike, who is retiring today from his role at Newark Northgate station, after joining our railway in 2005. Mike, aged 82, has helped many of our customers over the years, most recently as part of the team who provides our passenger assistance service. Thank you, Mike! @lner.co.uk

To make journeys easier during engineering work planned for the East Coast main line later in the year, we’re hoping to divert some @lner.co.uk services onto the Midland Main Line. This week we ran one of our Azuma trains to Bedford overnight to test stepping distances and accessibility.

The iconic Flying Scotsman service is back in its original 1000 departure slot today from Edinburgh to London 🚄 The service is now back running both ways, with the Scotland-bound train leaving London at 1030. Classic timings. Legendary journeys. And @lner.co.uk’s famous customer service.

Happy birthday our very own LNER Azuma, which first entered service on this day all the way back in 2019 🥳 Seven years later, the Azuma is still speeding customers up and down the East Coast in style 💨

A train-themed cake with candles is held up in front of an Azuma train. Colorful streamers and confetti decorate the image.A detailed and colorful cake shaped like an LNER Azuma train locomotive is on a table. Behind it is a matching plush toy train. The cake is decorated with "Azuma" on the front and realistic train details. The room has a softly lit interior with a candle and a TV visible in the background.

Wishing the best of luck to those running @londonmarathon.bsky.social today. If you're not taking part, we've worked out the maths for how you could still join in while traveling with us. Who's got a step counter? 🏃

Illustration of four runners in motion with a train in the background. Text reads, "The London Marathon is the equivalent of walking the length of one of our Azuma trains 164 times." Additional text notes a marathon is 55,000 steps and takes about 336 steps to walk the length of an Azuma train.
