📢In January, 40% of electricity was generated from renewables and new weekend demand records reached. Wind contributed to 33% of all electricity, gas was at 44% and imported interconnection was16%.  Saturday and Sunday peak demands were recorded in January, 5297MW on Sat 3rd and 5480MW on Sun 4th⚡

⚡Renewables provide 44% of electricity in December, with wind energy representing 39% of the overall share . Electricity demand was at 3234 GWh for December, up 146 GWh from last month.  There was also a new record for battery discharge reaching 396 MW on 15 December.🔋 #Renewables #Wind #Battery

Work has been completed on the Kilbarry Marina 110kV overhead line, this infrastructure upgrade will enhance bulk power delivery to Cork and surrounding areas. The circuit’s longevity has been ensured through the replacement of steel structures, platforms, ladders, hardware, and foundation works.🏗️

EirGrid and ESB Networks have completed the full uprate of the Glenree–Moy 110kV circuit⚡ This uprate will increase the rating and capacity of the conductor, reinforcing the grid's ability to transmit more energy from the Western region, and help deliver more renewable power across the country 🏡🏢
