Maria, my constituent from Everett & mom of two young children, is being held by ICE without proper medical care.   She has lived & worked here lawfully for a decade & would have had her charges dropped if ICE hadn't abducted & detained her across the country.

What a joy to drop by our City Year cohort this week! I’m so grateful for everything City Year does to equip our young people with the knowledge and skills to succeed & dream. The work y’all do makes the #MA7 a better place–and I’m here to support you, too.

Trump & the WWE Secretary have taken a sledgehammer to the Ed Dept. And our student loan borrowers are paying the consequences. This backlog should not exist. The Trump Administration must address it NOW and deliver borrowers the relief they deserve.

The PSLF Buyback program gives borrowers a chance to recover lost time in their pursuit of Public Service Loan Forgiveness. There is a backlog of roughly 82,000 applications for the program from public servants, according to the Education Department.

This is horrifying and barbaric. We should not be executing ANYONE in America. Not by firing squad. And certainly not publicly. We need to abolish the federal death penalty and impeach this incompetent, insecure, and violent Defense Secretary.

Pete Hegseth says Americans will be able to watch a Trump-approved firing-squad execution. If he follows through, the U.S. could join a disturbing club of countries known for public executions—including Iran, Afghanistan, and North Korea.

I'm proud to represent vibrant, diverse Latino communities who have shaped & defined Massachusetts. And I'm committed to governing cooperatively and fighting for them in Washington. I convened #MA7 Latino leaders to listen to & bring their stories with me to the 120th Congress.

This Banned Books Week, learn about my Books Save Lives Act. Our bill counteracts the rise in books bans nationwide and helps ensure an inclusive learning environment for ALL students.

Congress must pass it without delay.

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system and deserve fair contracts that reflect that standard of care. We're calling on @MassGenBrigham to remain at the bargaining table with @MassNurses to reach a good faith agreement that addresses the needs of nurses, patients, and our constituents.

My constituent Melanie from Chelsea was abducted by ICE, taken away from her young children–one with autism–& her husband. She has lived lawfully in the U.S. for years and is being held by ICE with an active ear infection & denied access to her anti-anxiety medication.

ICE detains mother of two outside Boston Police Department following alleged shoplifting arrest

The agency and BPD say the woman had been detained for shoplifting. The family says it’s a misunderstanding, and she was helping shop for Uber Eats.

Our Black entrepreneurs are pillars of our communities. And it was a joy to see their work up close at BECMA's Mass Black Expo this year. I'll keep fighting for policies like my SPARK Act to invest in minority entrepreneurship and close the racial wealth gap.

The USPS is a lifeline for #MA7 residents for everything from daily meds, Social Security checks, mail-in ballots, & staying connected to loved ones. That's why we're not letting them go back on their word and rip away this resource by permanently closing the Allston branch.

Shameful. USPS' closure of the Allston office was also "temporary" and now they want to close it permanently. We can't let USPS continue to degrade services and leave folks in Fields Corner and across the #MA7 without this vital resource. They must keep this branch open.

USPS says Fields Corner branch will 'temporarily' close Oct. 26 - Dorchester Reporter

The Fields Corner Post Office will close effective Mon., Oct. 26, according to a notice issued by USPS on Wednesday.

The state of our economy is failing Black workers, families, & futures—and this is a damning reminder of that. We need federal action to address this crisis. Sec. Scott Bessent must release the report on the impact of Black unemployment. And the Fed must do its job to maximize employment for all.

🚨Trump & Republicans' shameful cuts to food assistance are taking effect TODAY. That means states now have less resources to feed families facing food insecurity. In MA, over 188,000 SNAP beneficiaries have already been impacted. I'll keep fighting to expand SNAP & end hunger once and for all.

An NPR article titled: SNAP's funding model is starting to change. Here's what that means for the program

Christa Pike's botched execution is a horrifying reminder of the cruelty & inhumanity of the death penalty. State-sanctioned killing is barbaric and it's time we end this unjust punishment once & for all.

Death Penalty Action@deathpenaltyaction.bsky.social · 2w ago

In a stunning twist of events, Tennessee failed to execute #ChristaPike tonight - a second botched execution (or attempt) this year. The same physician who presided over the botched execution of Tony Carruthers earlier this year, was also involved in tonight's fiasco.

We'll never have justice for Nolan Wells, for in a just world he'd still be alive. But there must be accountability. We'll never stop saying his name & demanding the answers his family deserves. And we'll never stop fighting for a world where Black men can grow old and thrive.
