The Israeli commander who personally ordered the airstrikes on seven World Central Kitchen workers who were murdered in cold blood says that he is not sorry and falsely claims that the WCK has ties to Hamas. WCK is "not really an organisation you can say is innocent."

NEW: News media leaning into the trade war, and Ford's response, has papered over the fact that he's aligned with Trump's agenda on the domestic front. In fact, he and the PCs were embroiled in a scandal when the talks collapsed. Spying on Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie disappeared from the headlines

Under No Circumstances Do You Have to Hand it to Doug Ford

Probably unintentionally, the Trump administration played the perfect strategy for our broken media and "opposition" party. They did all the most boisterous, spectacle-driven stuff early and now that they're just casually running an immigrant exterminationist regime the press is bored by it.

RFK Jr.’s new drive to get us off anti-depressants brings home the vast number of death’s he’s already been personally responsible for, and the sheer amount of suffering. I believe that he alone, even among the crew he’s a part of, will be remembered as something other than, worse than, a villain.

The Democratic Party has let a consulting industry exploit elderly donors in its name, wreck its reputation and finances in the process, and walk away rich whether the party wins or loses. When a mirror is held up, the instinct is to break the glass rather than look. On why the press looks away:

The Bulwark Killed an Investigation into Political Fundraising Spam After Its Publisher Took the Consultants’ Side

This is a story about the Democratic Party captured by its consultants, and about what happens when the pro-democracy press is asked to say so.

my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.

Dolly Parton was incredibly cruel to me and me alone. She said she simply needed an outlet and I was that outlet, and she’d even apologize after hiding dead fish in my apartment or selling my identity to hackers. I’d never say it at the time but it was the honor of a lifetime

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.

“In Dallas for the premier of '9 to 5', I had an uncanny experience, and on the plane home to Chicago I confessed it to Siskel: I had been granted a private half hour with Dolly Parton, and as we spoke I was filled with a strange ethereal grace. This was not spiritual, nor was it sexual. It was healing and comforting. Gene listened and said, "Roger, I felt the exact same thing during my interview with her." We looked at each other. What did this mean? Neither one of us ever felt that feeling again. From time to time we would refer to it in wonder.”

“All of the cultural organizations in the city appeared to be crumbling and the story always seemed to be the same.” Soraya Roberts on what’s behind the trouble at Hot Docs, TIFF, the AGO and more. thelocal.to/hot-docs-can...

Toronto’s Arts Institutions Are Crumbling and it’s Always the Same Story | The Local

The trouble at Hot Docs, TIFF, Artscape and the AGO are part of a larger failure in a country that doesn’t take art seriously.

Wow. Dolly. She just seems like someone who wasn't allowed to ever leave us. So thankful for all she did and all the joy she brought people. I will always love you, Dolly! Rest In Peace.

Happy to announce all my posts today will have obviously typos and mistakes in them. I will not be proofreading and I will be very ill tempered towards anyone pointing the out to me. Please make a note if this.
