The Human Switchboard nostalgia got me thinking of this place and the few visits with a music buddy. Beth was appalled a few years later, after we met, and I showed her pictures of the place. “You went there!?!!” Perhaps the most culturally significant venue I’ve been to.

Randomly came across a reference to these guys & got nostalgic. Saw them shortly after university in a basement club in Kenmore Square; not The Rat, but a literal stone’s throw from it. I’d forgotten just how much girl group, garage rock, and art rock was included with the remembered VU influences.

Been making ribs the last few days. Honey Garlic, Classic BBQ, and Cajun dry rub with no sauce. Potato salad or salsa corn on the side.

Bob’s 85 today. Noted sailor and musician. It’s not widely known that he auditioned for Joey on Friends. Third pic: How you doin? Perhaps the best guest spot in TV history (4th pic) was his appearance on Dharma And Greg. Find it on YouTube and thank me later.

I carried through on yesterday’s theorizing and did indeed make some ramen noodles with a zippy peanut sauce for lunch. Chicken and cashews included, same as yesterday. Both were delicious but this was superior. 🥜🍜🐓

Soul food Sunday. Depends on who you ask, it’s either smothered turkey wings or stewed turkey wings. There’s a consensus that it’s served over rice.

Despite often being thought of as a curmudgeon, I genuinely, and generally, regard a win/win situation as the optimal outcome. But some lose/lose ones are soooooo sweet. 👌

Another panini. Turkey on cheddar onion sourdough, with pickles, TexMex cheese, mayo, and mustard, with all dressed Ruffles on the side.

New audiobook. New series. After a string of crime stories I decided to switch it up with something different and somewhat goofy. BTW, the cover art is partially based on Chapter 2.
