I asked my third-year undergrads to use AI to read Mortensen and Nagypál (2007), so we could have a discussion about the volatility puzzle of the DMP model. It was a fantastic exercise - I asked them to rank the solutions to the puzzle and this was the result #econsky

After a fantastic @eui-eco.bsky.social alumni conference, I played fancy dress with my students one last time. These people are bound to do great things, and it has been an immense privilege to teach them these past years. Thank you for the opportunity (particularly Russel) and best of luck!
Econ derby @eui-eu.bsky.social @eui-eco.bsky.social #coppapavone My co-author did an espectacular assist, but the best part as always was the curva. The passion and creativity of these guys makes me low key so proud 🥲
This is not economics related but my uncle features on the frontpage of our regional newspaper in recognition of the job he's been doing since 1995, delivering medicines to 7 villages door to door. So proud of him! nuevecuatrouno.com/2025/04/21/s...

I'm very happy to be nominated for the Innovation in Learning & Teaching Award 2025 @uniofbath.bsky.social How? The Write Club - an interactive online workshop to teach 1st year undergrad students how to write an essay in economics, for large classes and limited teaching time [1/5]
#econsky may I introduce you to the basic DMP model graphic explainer for undergrads. Explains the intuition so we can talk about equilibrium wage and tightness without going into value functions. Matching function is a bar, unemployed get free drinks (b) firms pay for entry.
Fun times presenting at the Southwest Macro Workshop! Thanks to Arpad and Nikos for putting together another great edition.
📈📉 On the first lecture of the year, I like to ask my undergraduate students, first-year economics majors, what they think economists do. These are the results for this year's cohort:
Cuando te añaden a un starter pack de economistas en español pero llevas sin escribir de economía en español desde cuarto de carrera... Hello amig@s! 😉
And that's another year of Probability lectures at EUI done! My legacy this year: a 1st year cohort that knows how markov chains work ✅ I'll miss them all, they are a great cohort, and not just because they put memes in the problem sets...
I was awesome to attend the @coreecon.bsky.social workshop and meet some fellow instructors! Loads of new ideas and inspiration for the semester ahead. I forgot to take a picture of the workshop itself on the hurry to catch the plane, so please accept this sunny Durham instead
