Watching a webinar about the creation of the new Lady Gaga website, and they mentioned that they had to do work to gather all the content and metadata to represent her discography. I hadn't really thought about that there's probably not a standardized way for an artist to maintain that. 🤔

18F, the federal government’s technology shop, was demolished by Musk’s team shortly after midnight. It was a cost-recoverable org, charging agencies for their expertise, using a consulting model. Its cost to government was negligible, its benefits huge. My team there once saved DoD $500 billion.

Most of the official communications out of the WordPress project lately are of the kind I might expect from, say, a 13-year-old forum administrator...not a platform powering 40% of the web's content management systems. And yet.

The joys of running a website made almost entirely of user-generated content: dealing with users who join and immediately post a ton of spam. (It's really adding up in Google AdSense revenue, though! Too bad that will likely get flagged as invalid traffic before it gets paid out.)
