One way to be safe is to never write an electability take
There is a legal fund to support the work to take action against NCTE. I encourage folks to give what they can and keep an eye out on what’s happening on the legal side of things. I’ll amplify information as I get it.

So @ncte.org has posted an update regarding the closure of #CCCC. This statement talks about "the creation of an assembly within NCTE that focuses on the teaching of college writing." Please note that up until 7/24/26 WE HAD THIS & IT WORKED. It was #CCCC. ncte.org/press-update...

Teaching critical thinking: What evidence do you have to support your claim? How do you know that evidence is true? Have you considered the opposing evidence? How do you know that evidence is false?

If you haven't had a chance to write the NCTE EC members, it's not too late. They are meeting today, and the more they hear from us about how important CCCC is to us, the better! These emails are all publicly available. Be focused and respectful.

@ncte.org has dissolved #CCCC and plans to absorb it into its College Section. There are many questions lingering. I’ll be amplifying 4C leaders and official statements offering explanations as I can. But this is sad and upsetting news for many folks in my profession.

PhD in words here. I *always* stop what I’m reading to look up a word I don’t know and then write it in the margins. Fiction? Non-fiction? Don’t matter. Because to learn a new word and feel it on my mouth and consider its meanings is *also* part of the joy of reading.

Yet still I see words I don’t know all the time, even in children’s books. I look them up.
I’m so food motivated that if my uni promised me 1-3 Michelin star meals for service, I’d serve more.
