Last week, Google reported 103B in profit. 90% of that was their investment in SpaceX and the LLM companies. It’s all paper. The remainder of their profit was not enough to outpace inflation, which is why their stock dropped. We are in a massive bubble economic bubble with circular financing.

Never in my life have my explanatory powers been as taxed as trying to explain to the 6yo that if she no longer wants bangs, she needs to grow them OUT, not cut them OFF. I tried drawing a diagram. I’ve had an easier time explaining Foucault to 19yo’s.
Then OpenAI needs to cite every damn paper they fed into their machine. LLMs are the result of collective human documentation.

In the last quarter, all of these AI companies were encouraging token-maxing. Which necessarily drives up cloud revenue THIS quarter. So this is why Amazon and Microsoft popped.
