I have come across a pamphlet from 1952, entitled “Christian Citizenship and Social Responsibility: This is our business.” Friends, it is a banger.

Still a newbie at this parenting thing, but I do recommend genuinely liking your kids. Seems to help.

I fully expect something similar to be happening with the ChatGPT commercial where the old lady knits a sweater to the wrong gauge and the chatbot ENCOURAGES HER.

Excited to report that the Youngest and I have discovered that I have basically memorized Dr. Seuss’ Too Many Daves— a lesser known, but still stellar work.

A lot of criticism of the White House press corps on Bluesky tonight, primarily coming from a journalism as fourth estate, truth to power, informing the public, valuing free speech perspective. In case you were wondering why many prominent media figures prefer spending time on X.

This is just to say my kids have entered a new phase of full-on “Ok, let’s pretend this is happening” playing and it is wonderous to behold.

Also like, part of what clergy offer to their congregations is connecting them to resources beyond their congregation that come from the kinds of collegial networking that is also part of the job, both within their geography and their denom. The only way to do that networking is to show up.

Riley’s comments really just highlight how little she knows and understands about disabled people and their abilities. Don’t worry though, she will find out, at some point (with age for most) we all become disabled, and for some it’s a very humbling experience.

Quite enjoying that the CofE and the Norwegian church made a wager on the football, and the latter now has to change logos for the day.
