Youtube lately either giving me very direct life advice or y2k dnb music with Link smoking a blunt on a ps1 cover thumbnail. No inbetween

speaking of zelda, did you know that back in 2001, somebody made a 20 hr rpg in rpg maker 2000 set in the ocarina of time world w/ a functioning day/night system

I dont like that the oot remake looks so washed out, like it looks so grey in places. There's a lot you can extract with the og dark style and some clothing clearly has color to them. Maybe theyll change that in the next remake in 10 years
Finally can record my snes. SaGa monster: *coolest sprite youve ever seen* *dies in one hit*
Ive been playing RS1 on the snes and it's not too bad with a primer The battle to exploration ratio is horrendous tho. Go through a whole dungeon full of easy encounters where your 6 party commands take up the entire combat time, then you find out you cant kill the boss and then have to leave
this 100%, the different races were cool. going to taverns get quests were cool; they have this cool world, characters live in, RS3/Saga 1 especially. my gripe is you only find out thru trial and error/how the game should be played - it'd be cool if the game was more accommodating with this failure.
is johnny cash the ikaruga of country music or is ikaruga the johnny cash of shmups find out in this video
what if bubsy3d was actually good is my first impressions
Nice, confirmed that the next episode of Future Jumpers is in development: STYLE INDIRECT. Also that despite being built on Godot, it's yet another 3D platformer (there's been a bunch recently, including Valkyrie Saga) made using Trenchbroom, the Quake 1 editor. Quake is neo-retro chic these days.
watched A Moment Of Romance (1990) I cannot find a single filler shot in this film.
Big Thinker Game Designer: The Player is this omnipresent being that cannot be negotiated with. They can do whatever they want as long as they don't hurt me.
Watched Wolf Children, i feel like how it ends was complete mercy from the director though when you think about it: it makes Jin Roh look like a happy ending.
Some gamedev moments made me wish i stuck to the C# roguelike tutorial back in 2010
I want to make my game have only one achivement: beat the game. Because that truly is an achivement but i know id be put to the cross by some completionist goblins
Watched Summer Wars on a whim and it rules. It's a retelling of digimon the movie but without the IP and being awkwardly broken up by short films. Surprised how well the portrayal of technology works in storytelling. It is very abstracted but understands social media on a deep level... in 2009
I loved warren spectors interview/lecture series because he'll randomly pause just to gush about the Dragonslayer movie or some animation history.
says something about our society that the Face with Bags Under Eyes Emoji was created in 2024 like some technology unlock in Civilization or something
Chrono Triggers battles are easy but the bosses still have friction variety as in you can't spam your best moves without triggering crazy counters. I think it's the only Squaresoft game that actually follows up on the ATB "don't attack and wait it out" that every FF game does for the first boss.
seeing someone play every FF before 9 by using an emulator that save states and loads a random game in the series and repeats that every random length of time or so and i wonder if that's the only ADD way to consistently complete games
played mythic bastionland, was about to get kidnapped by a lady trapped in the dream world so I sneakily took a hammer to her head breaking the dream we were all trapped in and apparently freed her by proxy but gave her amnesia. it's the most murder hobo thing i've done that solved a problem.
sorting my steam library by metacritic i love sunset overdrive, though suffers from the "how do you do fellow kids marketing" SiN Episodes: Emergence weirdly owns, mass effect andromeda I like Jak 2 more than 1 i'm sorry i like re6 why the fuck is rain world a 59
OKAY LETS HAVE FUN. "Most critically acclaimed thing you hate" is like a free square, so lets hear THE CRITICALLY WORST GAME YOU LIKE. Bonus points if it's actually bad, but 'It's actually slept on' is fine. Mine is probably Jurassic Park: Trespasser. Magical, shitty game.
they bring back a hood classic, this game is the most LAN cafe game ever. idk how to describe it any more than that store.steampowered.com/app/3139440/...

syncing this up took more time than the original implementation itself probably
of all the games that actually need rereleases it's the indie games from pre-XBLA era with hard to scale resolutions and compiled to target windows xp or something. I'm glad nothing is unnecessarily upressed

binging the spidermans with a friend i had no idea there were more than 2 tom holland movies before the current one
At a section in chrono cross where combat is too easy and the plot takes a back seat to "go to water dragon island then fire dragon island" type stuff. I don't really care about what I'm doing which can really sink an RPG experience.
