In the face of anti-Arab racism and Islamophobia platformed by by the President, normalized by political parties, and pedaled in by media outlets, an everyday voter can see through the hate, vote on the issues, and elect someone who doesn't look like them. And that is worth fighting for.

For @abdulelsayed.bsky.social -- son of Egyptian immigrants -- to have won, giving us the first Muslim Senator in US history in the face of some of the most disturbing and normalized levels of Islamophobia and anti-Arab racism since 9/11 is a testament to how HISTORIC this moment is and will be.

Egyptian rights defender, psychiatrist, and co-founder of El-Nadeem Dr. Aida Saif El-Dawla has received a summons for questioning in Case No. 30 of 2026; she will go in next Monday, November 9. Nine months ago, Dr. Aida was released on LE 100,000 after being questioned in a different case.
After initial claims by the Supreme Judicial Council stating that Lina Attalah had waived her right to an appeal, the New Cairo Misdemeanor Appeals Court has now scheduled an appeal in the case fining Lina LE 3 million and ordering the closure of Mada Masr to begin on November 25.
Centrists running the Democratic Party need to realize that aggressively condemning Islamophobia aimed at aspiring and sitting members of Congress isn't progressive or left-leaning politics. It's the bare minimum of basic human decency, and the wider electorate is watching who doesn't speak up.

Egypt's Supreme Judicial Council has issued a statement denying the egregious rule of law violations that Lina Attalah experienced and that her legal team witnessed at her October 27 trial, also claiming that Lina has waived her right to an appeal, which is entirely untrue.
