As I see more and more folks getting concerned about PPWR, I hope this spread! The official EU guidelines do address small businesses and acknowledge a way around the undoable administrative burden and cost (for most EU sellers at least).

Alright I THINK I found the loophole all of us shop owners in the EU are looking for with the PPWR*. It just requires us to buy shipping supplies in the same company we sell from. *I’m not a legal professional but this is from the officially published EU guidelines (Explained below)

A screenshot of the guidance with a part highlighted reading: “However, to minimise any unnecessary administrative burden for small businesses that fill transport packaging, primary production packaging or service packaging, whether as a single-use packaging or as reusable packaging, at the point of sale, the producer should be the manufacturer, distributor or importer of such packaging that makes the packaging available for the first time from within the territory of the Member State, since that economic operator is best placed to comply with the extended producer responsibility obligations.’”
