Support for the Social Democrats has reached a record high, the latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll shows, with the popularity of party leader Holly Cairns also rising.

Today I joined retired An Post workers protesting outside the Dáil for a pension increase that should have been in place months ago. After a lifetime of service to the State they should not be forced to fight for what is owed to them.

I joined striking Healthcare assistants at their protest outside the Dáil today. Workers at Northside Home Care Service Workers do invaluable work and yet only get paid the minimum wage. They look after our elderly, are incredibly dedicated and deserve decent pay.
