Random thought of the night. I was looking at my convention list, it seems like I've never been to a convention that happened in May or September.

Facebook keeps recommending me posts from a page that uses AI to make Blender tutorials. Of course, it's not even good at it.
So there's a benefit with being my own editor, I had a sequence in Pandemonium that didn't feel right, until I reordered two of the scenes and now everything just flows.
Just in time for Halloween, from @crescend.bsky.social , we got a witch Minty, with her assistant @nightietime.bsky.social He's got magic wings.
I'm at a local restaurant and I'm really glad they didn't use AI menus. I can't help but to notice the layering error on the cans of Coke.
Movie news: Today I can finally reveal I did 3D environment work on Treasure Trekkers, now in theaters.
Texel density is a myth invented by big texture to sell more big textures.

So I've had mouse buttons fail on my computer mice before, but it's the first time that the middle button is the one failing first. I didn't realize how much I use it until it started to fail.
So I bought tickets to the Vintage Computer Festival in Montreal next month. Turns out I have an old personal organizer I could use to organize my con schedule. I don't know how old it is, but I had one like that when I was a kid.
So the first week back at the studio has been pretty good. Turns out I'm not working on one production, but two.
Welcome back, Nightmare Nights.

Needless to say, I can't use that computer for my personal projects, but that does free up my personal computer for more render time away from work.
Minty Root@mintyroot.bsky.social · 2w agoDay 1 at the new job was interesting. I was assigned my computer and briefed on the nature of the project. This has a Ryzen 7950X with 128GB of RAM and a RTX A4000. Welp.

Saw this background pony and thought they were cute c: 💛❤️
I have to admit, I was really caught off-guard with this. I have just enough time to pay a visit to my best friend, then head back straight to Montreal. I did sorta celebrate it with a poutine with my dad yesterday, but nothing too special.
Minty Root@mintyroot.bsky.social · 2w agoYCH update: I just got some job updates, I don't start in January, but next Monday. As a result, I won't have as much time for YCHs, so I'm still keeping them open, but they might take a bit longer to do.

A little electronic project I've been doing to solve an annoying production problem.

Seems like I'll have to do some electronics tinkering to fix an animation problem I've had for a while. I'll need to buy some relays and a few small components.
