Delighted to be listening to Prof Dina Kiwan at University of Birmingham and all those involved in the Disability Under Siege project, about the lives of disabled people in conflict zones. I know I will learn much from listening to the many presenters today and tomorrow.

Just heard Prof Lorna Hamilton talk about her project on neuro-inclusive campuses @ York St John - fascinating participatory research asking 'Can I exist/thrive here?' Love their focus on making acceptance visible & shifting from individual adjustments to inclusive campus design by default.

Enjoyed listening to Dr Amanda Hickey about the DISCO (Disability Community) Project at York. Interesting project building communities of disabled students to foster belonging & improve outcomes. She emphasizes peer connections + interdepartmental networks, led by student ambassadors.

Loving listening to Prof Nicki Martin & Dr Jill Pluquailec on reimagining assessment for neurodivergent students. Moving beyond traditional approaches, questioning assumptions that examiners/educators might make - finding new ways to capture & celebrate diverse ways of knowing & expressing knowledge

Very sad to hear today of the death of John Evans OBE, who was a leading advocate and activist for independent living from the 1970s to today. What a huge loss to the movement and of course to his family, friends, colleagues and comrades. They are all in my thoughts. Sincere condolences.
