The Retro Roadshow is the San Francisco Bay Area's premiere pop-up museum of vintage technology! Visit www.RetroRoadshow.org to learn more

We were so excited to partner with the Computer History Museum for their recent celebration of Apple's 50th birthday! We brought some rare jewels from our collection to share and the response was wonderful. This whole event was a truly magical experience! #Apple

The Watsonville community turned out in style for our recent Retro Roadshow "Mario Through The Ages" event! Everyone had a great time learning and getting hands-on with our vintage consoles. Let us know if you'd like to see it at your local library, school, business, or other venue! #Gaming

We had a BLAST bringing Retro Roadshow's Console Chaos to the Sunnyvale Public Library! This show explores the 'console wars' of the late '70s through the '90s. This is becoming one of our most popular events - let us know if you'd like to see it at your local library, school, or business!  #BayArea

Sega Genesis & 32X playing "General Chaos" on an RGB-modded Sony KV13M. Pretty nice way to pass the time on a lazy Sunday! This game is an awesome mix of realtime strategy and cartoonish humor, but it rarely seems to get mentioned anymore. Definitely check it out if you can!

It's very much a work in progress, but we're delighted to announce that we'll be exhibiting our new #Apple Lisa 2/10 at several Retro Roadshow events! It's almost impossible to get hands-on with these rare machines, and we really can't wait to share with you all soon

User Interface Design peaked with the MacAddict Magazine CD-ROM interface in 1996. Everything prior was just building up to this, and everything afterwards was a mistake. BRING BACK THE “3D PYRAMIDS + HOVERING GLOBES WITH ORBITING PARTICLES” AESTHETIC YOU COWARDS

With the Apple Creator Studio announcement, this old post is even more relevant. Keynote is the overlooked jewel of Apple’s macOS apps - literally the best piece of software they’ve shipped in 25 years. Happy to see Keynote sharing the spotlight and getting some well-deserved love! @gruber.foo

If you happen to know anyone at Apple who works on Keynote, please pass along this message: I love you. Compared to the alternatives (you know what they are), Keynote feels like a miracle of thoughtful design. I sincerely love this app, and by extension, I love anyone and everyone who made it.

Yesterday was a BIG DAY for us: @marketplace.org aired a lovely segment about our Retro Roadshow! It feels incredible to be getting exposure and recognition like this. 2025 has been amazing, and we're making big plans for 2026 - we hope to see you all in person! www.marketplace.org/story/2025/1...

Running a vintage tech museum as a family

Sarai and Huxley Dunsany tell the story of turning Huxley’s vintage technology collection into the family business.

I was taught that a Chekhov's Gun is something that's mentioned at the start of a story to foreshadow something happening later on. But in 'Santa Baby', they mention a Chekov My Christmas List, and then it doesn't get mentioned again? Is Eartha Kitt just bad at storytelling?

I was unloading for our Apple-themed Retro Roadshow event at the Sunnyvale Library yesterday. When I set our Flower Power iMac down onto a flatbed alongside our NeXT MegaPixel Display, my Internet-addled brain went "huh... I've seen his before..." Took me a moment but I figured it out 😂

The top of the image shows the famous "Rainbow Girl / Goth Girl" meme featuring sisters who look nothing alike. The bottom of the picture shows a "Flower Power" iMac G3 sitting next to a black NeXT MegaPixel monitor.

We had our whole 2025 Maker Faire lineup of vintage computers and gaming worked out weeks ago, but when news broke that Apple co-founder and all-around delightful human being Steve 'Woz' Wozniak would be in attendance we had to make a last-minute change: the Apple IIe is coming out to play!
