Thank you to the 421 people who voted for me. Wow. My following is probably smaller than that 😅 so thank you. I wrote my nomination at PyLATAM in CR and heard results at PyLadies Dublin. @whykay.bsky.social told me how much a PSF visit meant. The number in the room doesn't matter. Showing up does.🧵

Doing diversity and inclusion work in tech can feel isolating sometimes. You might be organizing a meetup, writing a code of conduct, trying to get funding for your community, or helping people feel welcome, often in your spare time, and wondering if anyone else is wrestling with the same things.

PyConSG keynote was a personal one. I was invited to talk about AI + education, but ended up sharing why I walked away from teacher training in Singapore more than 20 years ago. The conversations afterwards made me realise it was not only my story. georgiker.com/blog/ai-did-...
I’m really honoured and excited to be one of the fellows supported by @sovereign.tech this year 😊. Looking forward to meeting the other fellows, learning about their projects, and contributing to the open source ecosystem together.

Why invest energy in D&I work when it's being questioned everywhere? Because barriers are real. Because Python is global. This is what not giving up looks like. georgiker.com/blog/python-... @juliobs.com @lernerpython.com @riecatnor.bsky.social @sayab.bsky.social @karobotco.bsky.social
I added my partner's phone to the router's parental controls. No internet on Sundays. He still cannot figure out why 😆.
The PSF continues to feel deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from the Python community before and during our 2025 year-end fundraiser. We put together this thank you video to share our appreciation and joy to be in community with each of you 🐍🫶 #PythonisForEveryone
🥹 5,600 contributions and $500k! This comes from YOU. It's a game-changer for @python.org. It proves that Python is more than a language, it’s a community of people who believe in building together. Thank you to every contributor. You're the foundation ❤️ P.S: @cheuk.dev is glad to keep her hair.
!!!!!! YOU DID IT- you helped us raise over ✨$500k✨ to support #PythonForEveryone 🥹🤯 We are astonished and deeply committed to making every dollar count. Words and emojis feel inadequate to express our vast appreciation, but we still want to say them: Thank you! THANK YOU! Thanks & MORE thanks 🥰🥰🥰
2025 was another eventful year for PyPI! Critical security enhancements, powerful new org features, a better overall user experience, and transparent security incident response 🎉👏 Thank you, PyPI team & community! Learn more on our blog: blog.pypi.org/posts/2025-1...

As the PSF heads into our end-of-year fundraiser this month, we want to “connect the dots” and share a full picture of our current financial outlook: what’s happening, why, and how you can help sustain the future of Python and the PSF. 🧵
Connecting the Dots: Understanding the PSF’s Current Financial Outlook
As the PSF heads into our end-of-year fundraiser, we want to share information to help “connect the dots” and show a more complete picture of the PSF’s current financial outlook. You’ve heard from us on subjects related to our financial position from several different angles recently (a list of those posts is below). We’ve prioritized proactive communications, because we believe in transparency, we have trust in our community, and we value keeping you informed— we know how invested in and impacted by our work you are. We now want to pull those threads together in order to create some shared clarity on the big picture, and, hopefully, inspire you to action to support our fundraising efforts.

It was the right thing to do. It wouldn’t be worthwhile if we couldn’t stand behind the diverse communities that form the backbone of Python. It’s tough cos the ecosystem is expanding faster than resources. Sustaining takes real funding and responsibilities. Our year-end fundraising is coming soon.
TLDR; The PSF has made the decision to put our community and our shared diversity, equity, and inclusion values ahead of seeking $1.5M in new revenue. Please read and share. pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/NSF-... 🧵
Thank you, @developer.arm.com, for investing in the future of #Python and the PSF by hosting this year’s CPython sprint– we appreciate your support!
🐍 CPython Core Dev Sprint 2025 wrap: ~50 core devs (yes, Guido too) and invited guests hacking in Cambridge. JIT, free-threading, C-API, endless side discussions. It's safe to say the best ideas start over coffee and a whiteboard with @python.org: community.arm.com/arm-communit...
With @python.org Grants Program pause, organizers worried about keeping their events alive. As both board member and part of community, it’s been tough for us too. Here's something I put up from what I've learnt in the past. Hope it helps one event at a time.❤️ georgiker.com/blog/one-eve...
