Today marks the anniversary of the last day (in 1978) that a Potteries bottle oven was kindled and fired for the last time. At the height of the pottery industry, approximately 2,000 of these iconic structures dominated the city’s skyline. Now, only 47 remain. #bottleovens #bottlekilns #bottlekiln

Also on the train home, I received an email confirming a job offer; working from home - writing reports - on a part-time and flexible basis! I’ve accepted, of course. I should go away more often!
