I’m trying out some different pens, getting ready to start illustrating one of the next books. Here’s a drawing of my favourite restaurant in Himeji. たか月 54 Tatemachi, Himeji, Hyogo, Japan

A black and white illustration of a 2 story building. Attached, on either side are 3 story buildings. The sidewalk and street are visible along the front of the buildings. There are some elements from the Showa time period in japan, as well as modern things like air conditioning units and a satellite dish. The Japanese characters on the sign read Takatsuki. A wooden door with a small fabric curtain above let’s us assume that this is a restaurant of some sort.Junko-san prepares food in the small Japanese restaurant. It is Showa style inside, with space for only 6 customers at the counter.
