tpat@thomaspatrickwx.bsky.social · 2mo agoMassive Ontario wildfires is causing skies to be extremely smoke and air quality to tank across the Midwest and New England states. Hazard Air Quality is reported across much of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan this Thursday morning.
Pretty sure we broke the AQI with how bad air quality was this morning. The second I walk outside it smells like a campfire.
One of the weirder GDQs for me. In a positive way though. I got to use the event to get away from some mental exhaustion I was starting to experience back home. Although it found a strange way to catch up to me near the end of the event and I hardly slept, I do feel ready face stuff back home.
1-2 at my first ever locals. I am the greatest thrower who can kick and scream for another 10 turns after said massive blunder.
Yea, The Amazing Digital Circus is pretty good. I wish the show’s thumbnails on YT weren’t quite so algorithmic pilled though. Feels like it makes it harder sell if I tried to get friends to take it seriously.
I just heard a local radio host do the 6-7 thing we have truly failed as a society.
I have successfully speedrun not one but two colds this year in 2.5 days and Im starting to become scared of my talents.
Because I’ll probably forget in the moment: I’ll be at VGMCon on Saturday in the late morning/early afternoon. Will be more focused on enjoying the live VGM than MWSF but I’ll probably swing by the stream room for a bit at some point. If any mutuals are gonna be around and wanna say hi let me know!
Mario Galaxy movie is a fun watch. No complaints other than could be longer to give some scenes room to breathe. Millions of music references within that had me gigglin’.

After years of cheap cardboard Ikea desk for work I decided to treat myself to a nice standing desk. And my 1440p monitor from my gaming setup that Ive been neglecting a lot lately. Still got a ways to go but hopefully this keeps me more motivated at work lol.
Resist the temptation to gotcha! conservatives over the fact that the man ICE murdered in Minneapolis today was legally carrying a gun. They. Don't. Care. They have never had principles, just positions that most easily allowed them to exert power.
I am unbelievably mad. And so is everyone around me. This shit can’t continue but I fear it will only get worse before it gets better.
Today’s going to be the biggest protest in MN yet against ICE. It is also the coldest day of the year by a significant margin with windchill going below -30F. I wish my friends and fellow Minnesotans standing up to all this bullshit warmth and safety today.
If I had a nickel for every time Ive been the featured runner in a key image for a news article, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s fun that it’s happened twice.

Little late to the party but I’ve been busy (and now I’m sick). Crazy this marks 10 speedrunning events I’ve been to in such a short time.
After 2 GDQ appearances it’s been proven I cannot avoid being titled one of the most photogenic people on stage.
