Gentle reminder to folks who commission art; When an artist sends you sketch WIPs, PLEASE don't be afraid to speak up if something doesn't look right, It's not an inconvenience!! It is much more tedious for both parties for the artist to have to go back during the later stages 😫

A guide image on how to write alt text. Key descriptors would be "define who", "(facial) expression", "description", "color", and "interesting features". These helpful descriptors are defined in different colors. The image features a capybara looking relaxed in a hot spring with a yellow yuzu fruit on its head. There is simple yet descriptive text next to it that highlights the core details, highlighted in the colors like the key descriptors describe.

Good morning. I woke up to news from the forums. The #ffxiv did in fact try to implement natural curls but had trouble. they won't give up on trying to make textured hair work Just knowing they won't give up on trying to make curly hair makes me glad. I was afraid they would stop trying after this.

こんばんは。 パッチ7.1で実装予定の髪型について、多数のフィードバックをお寄せいただき、ありがとうございます。 また、大きく混乱を招いてしまい申し訳ありません。 今回のパッチでは、ストレートヘアだけでなく、様々な髪型を増やしたいという考えの元、 髪型デザインコンテストの入賞作品の中から「Natural Curls」を実装すべく作業を開始しました。 しかしながら、開発作業を進めるにつれ、Natural Curlsに求められる軽やかで繊細な、ボリュームのあるカールを表現するには、 グラフィックスアップデートを行ったFFXIVであっても、ポリゴン数等の制約が障壁となり、完璧な実装には至りませんでした。 そのため、今回の髪型はNatural Curlsとしての実装ではなく、「ウェイビーボブ」ヘアスタイルとして実装されております。 （ゲーム内の髪型の名称もそのようになっています） ただし、開発工程において、入賞作品を参考にしたことは事実であることから、パッチノートにはその旨の記載を行いました。 これにより、結果として大きな混乱や心配を生んでしまったことは、たいへん申し訳なく思います。 今回は実現が叶いませんでしたが、今後も開発チームでは、多くの髪型を実装できるよう努めて参ります。 パッチ7.1では実装断念となったNatural Curlsについても、別手法での実装方法が無いか、 粘り強くこれからも検討は続けていくつもりです。 多数のフィードバック、ありがとうございます。引き続きFFXIVをお楽しみください！Hello. Thank you for all your feedback on the hairstyle that will be implemented in Patch 7.1. We would like to apologize for the major confusion we have caused. For this patch, we started work to implement "Natural Curls" from the winning entries of the Hairstyle Design Contest, based on the idea of adding not only straight hair but also a variety of other hairstyles. However, as the development work progressed, the light, delicate, and voluminous curls required for Natural Curls could not be implemented perfectly, despite implementation of the recent graphical update in FFXIV, due to limitations such as the polygon count. Therefore, the finished result is a hairstyle that has not been implemented as Natural Curls, but as a wavy bob hairstyle, which is called "Doing the Wave" in-game. However, since we did use the winning entry as a reference in the development process, we included a statement to that effect in the patch notes. We are deeply sorry that this has resulted in a great deal of confusion and concern. Although we were not able to make it happen this time, the development team will continue to strive to implement many more hairstyles in the future. As for Natural Curls, which was not implemented in Patch 7.1, we will persevere in our efforts to look for other ways to implement this hairstyle. We appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy FFXIV!

For artists new here or anyone who doesn't know yet: You can add tags to your bio that let people see all your posts using this tag. It works like a media tab but better since you can choose what you want to show! Just add the tag and choose the second option when you click on it.

Thank you so much for 500+ follows! I feel very welcomed here in bsky and I'll do what I can to support all other creatives! A little reintroduction with designer/artist vs design: Heya I'm Krisna! I also dabbled in art but designing is my main career, and I love horror genres in any media~ :)
