Mets announce that director of hitting Jeff Albert, quality assurance coach Danny Barnes and batting practice pitcher Kevin Mahoney will not return to the major-league staff next year. They could still return to the organization, but they are free to discuss jobs elsewhere.

The Mariners’ win last night locks in the Mets’ lottery position. They have the fifth-best odds (8.68%) to win the No. 1 pick. They have about a 60 percent chance to stay in the top six. (Reminder: Their pick drops 10 spots if it falls out of the top six.)

Nolan McLean's outstanding rookie season is (presumably) concluded with a gem: 7 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. If the Mets' bullpen holds this one-run lead (starting with Devin Williams' return to the mound here in the eighth), McLean will finish the season 12-10 with a 3.16 ERA.

Mark Vientos' toss to Jonah Tong at first base led him right into a collision with Bryson Stott to end the inning. Tong limped a bit back into the dugout and right down the steps into the clubhouse. It's 2-0 Phillies in the middle of the first.

From Andy Green, a CT scan on Jared Young came back negative. While he is experiencing concussion symptoms, he does have full use of his extremities. “It feels like we’ve avoided the scariest outcomes,” Green said.
