Last Friday people gathered at St Martin’s in Middlesbrough as part of my Lord’s Prayer Tour. Over recent months, I’ve been travelling across the North of England, inviting people to rediscover the prayer that Jesus taught us, not just as words we say, but as a way of life for Christian disciples.
Joining Primates & bishops from the Porvoo Communion of Churches in London, starting with evensong at Westminster Abbey. We’ll be meeting together to focus on ‘Being the Church in turbulent times’, on the political challenges facing churches across our denominations.

"Thousands inspired by Sir Kevin Sinfield’s 7 in 7 challenge this week. Whether we run the extra mile or simply hold someone’s hand in a moment of need, may we all be willing to do a little more for one another." I shared a Pause for Thought on BBC Radio 2 this morning.
Great to welcome members of the retired clergy association to Bishopthorpe today.
Humbled to play a small part in supporting Sir Kevin Sinfield’s last 7 in 7 challenge as he set off to Wakefield from Bishopthorpe Palace this morning. The tireless work he has done to support those with MND is phenomenal, all beginning out of love and respect for his friend Rob Burrows. Go well.

The end of our second day of #pilgrimage on the Isle of Man. Today we walked stretches of the Triskelion Way, taking in the beauty of Glen Mooar, Cabbal Pherick and Spoot Vane, before gathering at Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church and continuing from Ramsey to Maughold.
A wonderful first day on the Isle of Man, walking in #pilgrimage from the Sound to Spanish Head and onto Cregneash with fellow pilgrims. Along the way we shared in conversation and prayer, before ending the day with Manx Evening Prayer at Cregneash Church.
The first Single Friendly Church Week begins on Sunday. An invitation to every worshipping community to look honestly at how we welcome those who live alone, and to take one intentional step towards being a church that is kind, fair and forgiving, and where every person is supported and welcomed.
