moving back to having a part-time dayjob has been rly nice and really humbling and grounding tbh. nice to remember that i am Good at something other than music and be able to treat music purely as a passion again rather than a job

had one of those "oh my god i think i've just finished the best song of my career so far" moments this past week. everything i've been striving for creatively recently.
my focus was to pay a lil tribute to where i've been before i start on something fairly different next. will leave it at that hehe. hope you enjoy! don't think i've ever had that much fun DJing before.

wish i was still at bangface (on the 2p machines eternally)
crying listening to footpaths. i had that in me. that's crazy
new Himera album is generationally incredible, moving and beautiful. track 11 samples "changing tense" from the former hero days. it's so cool hearing the final version after the different iterations that appeared throughout the past few years. truly gorgeous!!
a couple more prettier releases this year then all hell breaks loose in 2026. bare with me!!!
finally premiering the second birkham session mix tonight over on my twitch channel. a couple new things & lots of very pretty music. starting at 10pm UK time. twitch.tv/birkham \|/

still haven't recovered from someone calling birkham the Former Hero Piss Era
just recorded the next DJ session so that'll be out by the weekend. a few new things but mostly just an expression of where my head's at at the moment. i'll share more about it soon <3 \|/
former hero@formerheromike.bsky.social · last yr.thank you all for putting up with me being inconsistent this year. i need to learn to stop overpromising. wanted to have more birkham music out by now but life keeps throwing curveballs that make it hard to focus on anything other than family or my own health. new music when it's ready. cheers
