Like seriously, if you're genuinely concerned about people getting harassed for using AI, having an option for users to ignore said people instead of forcing them into the same space together mitigates this issue, otherwise the next best thing that users will do is make these goobers feel unwelcome.
Making a person feel ignored when they're actively harming a space or community is like the bare minimum non-violent way society deals w/ assholes. If you don't want AI goobers to get their feelings hurt at least make it easy for people to ignore them so both sides can go off & play by themselves.
Like I could see this alternate feedback system potentially filtering this silliness through the community policing itself but the that they took such a middle of the aisle approach & were so wishy-washy wording-wise that it’s obvious where the company lies on using this tech leaves me with the ick.
Will not lie as someone whose entire income relies on this space watching the one’s who run it shoot themselves in the foot like this is terrifying when there’s not really a viable alternative that wouldn’t require weeks of work or money to move my operation to.
I don't think people realize just how many of the literal largest world creators in this game pad their stuff with AI. When they say they have creators who're concerned about labels they mean it. This silliness is unpleasantly ingrained into this section of the platform and has been for awhile.
While I appreciate that they are listening to the players, I do find it very telling that VRChat makes it a point to avoid mentioning that 90% of AI tools are built on models that were trained on stolen labor, which defeats any nuance regarding what level of AI is/isn't okay.

There’s going to be a huge “shut the fuck up” challenge regarding the Harry Potter game sequel that a lot of people on the internet will fail. A lot of people who will talk about playing it and demand that their lgbtq friends absolve them of guilt for giving money to TERF Voldemort.
