The Rev. William Scoresby’s time as Vicar of Bradford (1839–1847) was defined by a fierce commitment to the poor, which alienated the city’s industrial elite. Arriving during of a period severe economic problems, Scoresby championed the working class and built Bradford's first church day schools to educate children trapped in gruelling factory labour. His critiques of harsh factory conditions and relentless advocacy directly challenged the profits of local business owners. Wealthy industrialists viewed his reforms as a threat to their economic control. Facing bitter opposition, a frustrated Scoresby eventually resigned, leaving a legacy that prioritised human dignity over industrial profit.

It's great to see tailoring accommodate such extreme movement today. This level of tailoring was a bit more common in the past, as you can see in old films featuring Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, but many modern suits will lift off the wearer's neck even when they're just walking.
