Every desk chair I have ever had, I have utterly destroyed the squishy part on the arm rests, first on the left side, then on the right. Is this a common thing? My lab mates didn't destroy their chairs in grad school. I didn't mean to!

I'm weirdly finding that as I get older, it's easier to learn new skills, which is the opposite of what I thought was supposed to happen. I don't think we're giving enough credit to a lifetime of built skills. When new skills have overlap w/existing ones it greases the wheels for the new.

Posting videos on the internet in 2026 is cool because you can post a video in which you say "I wonder what this plant is?" at 0:05 into the video, and then tell them what it is at 0:31, and you'll get people telling you what it is. Babygirl it's ok, I tell you in a couple of seconds.

Goofy ass question: how fast could, in a laboratory setting, moths eat a sweater, at max speed? And are there labs around that have a critical mass of sweater eating moths that could supply enough moths?

Was driving to pick up my aunt from the doctor, and I saw a big yellow dump truck with “Trash Daddy” written across the back. I was like “ha ha hell yeah, sounds like my type”. As I was passing the truck, I looked to see who was driving it. He gave me a honk for squid. Fuckin knew it.

I got these erasers from artist & craftsman ~a year ago that were little animals in pixel art form, like this frog. I got a snail & a cat. I lost the cat last night, idk what happened to snail. I went looking for them online & can't find them anywhere. Real hello darkness my old friend moment.

I like to eat lunch on the sidewalk, on the street side of the sidewalk under my tree. It’s nice & shady! It’s kinda weird to sit here instead of stoop but whatever. It’s customary to say howyadoin to people sitting outside their houses. When people go by without a howyadoin? Side eye.

When I was driving home from moth night ~1:30am, two deer lackadaisically meandered from the darkness in front of my car and *despite* having a very long physically exhausting day, I slammed those brakes fast enough to not hit those nincompoops. They’re lucky I’ve been taking a vitamin d supplement!

Was cooking something up last night in the woods and look I know these arms are a mess ok? I know. I’m *workingggg* on itttt. It’s for a just for fun project (yes it is about urban biodiversity which is my job I was having fun it doesn’t count!!).

Staring down a day of navigating grants so we can afford to do more projects in the spring. Everybody crossed your fingers for us.

My go-to print shop hired me to weed in front of their building and spruce up their planters and I need to show you the before and after because it took me 2 hours and presumably a liter of sweat.
